ljo, no it's not a 9 sec car. It's a 6.70 car in the 8th mile at 100mph. It is an all steel car except fiberglass hood and weighs about 3350 lbs with driver. It has a mild 383 (350 with 400 crank) and no nitrous. It's our old super stocker we ran on the nhra circuit years ago. At the time we were running the factory 283 motor and we traveled up and down the eastern seaboard running at divisional and national events for almost 30yrs.

watched ballgame on tv with my son while washing/drying clothes for next week. He and I are the only ones around the house these days. My wife is in Little Rock helping take care of her dad. As some know, he is dying of heart failure and is not expected to live a few months. Will try to check in later.

And I thought I had usps problems *** *** *** TODAY *** *** ***!! Reading this thread makes mine very minor!!
My son and I are sick and were both feeling like crap earlier in week. I had to shipped my ps yesterday express (first time ever for express mail). As I was paying almost $29.00 the clerk at usps asked did I want signature required. I stated no. However, he did not ask me to sign signature waiver. I did not know I had to sign waiver....but I do now! As I was tracking it this morning I realized a signature was going to be required. I thought....I can't believe it. (well maybe I left a few comments out about what I was thinking)
I called Glenn and he graciously stated he would be there for signature or he would go to post office to pick it up. Tracking tonight reflected it arrived and we are back in business. Thanks again Glenn.

Bill, thanks for the info. I'm currently using a piece of brass stock for the inner bore. Yes, you are correct, if I get in a hurry, it will spin on the pin.

I have a used taig lathe that has been in storage for a while. Just started playing around with it and some old style wheels recently. Any tips on what to do and what not to do and in what order would be appreciated. I have already established a true mandrel. thanks again for any advice.

The last two months have been crazy. There has been something planned for every weekend. Either dance competitions, Scout campouts, Scoutmaster training, graduations, class reunions and probably some stuff I have forgotten. I have had absolutely no time at all to tinker, test or tune anything . Things are finally getting back to normal. I have been able to squeeze in a new Pure Stock build ;D "The Nuge". He's going to Wang Dang your Sweet Poontangs. Going to try and put a Stranglehold on the Pure Stock class. ;D I can't wait to see him Wango Tango down the track. It would be better with video ;D

Besides working normal stuff 9-10hrs a day as a project planner, designing/planning/coordinating to provide electrical service to a 8 mega watt chicken processing plant, son's baseball games, daughter's concerts, church vice moderator, member of pastoral search committee, family weddings, graduations, father, ATM machine for my 16yr old, husband, and general "honey do s"............NOT much of anything.
I am flying to Little Rock this weekend to celebrate my father-in-law's 90th birthday. I hope I live that long and still be able to walk across the room to the bathroom by myself without diapers!!
