In my post above, did I ask for something everyone with grooved axles wants to keep a "secret"? It got real quiet. I was just asking what configuration the grooves should be cut on axle for best performance?? How much of axle actually rides/supports wheel bore? Surely one of the top builders would be willing to provide this info. if you do not want to post on board, a pm would be ok. :thanks Ed

thanks a1nogoslo...how much or (how little) surface area of axle should be in contact with the wheel bore? A picture would be worth a thousand words for this thick headed pine head. thanks

Assuming you are using graphite, what is the best design for the grooves on the axles? In other words, where should the grooves be in relation to wheel bores? To follow up, what is the best method for cutting grooves? (files. saws, etc?). Thanks for your responses.
