Week of June 12 Is faith simply a frame of mind? A passive attribute of a Christian waiting to see what God has in store for you- a promotion, cancer, depression, a blessing, wealth or injustice. Some see it that way. They might say, "I'll just wait to see what God is going to do for me and go with the flow" That's crazy talk Faith is active. It's not passive. It's a commitment. Look at your lifestyle and see what kind of actions follow as a result of it. If you've got the real stuff, faith can be demonstrated. What do you do? You start following the pattern of Jesus. Faith is proven by how we live. Share your faith with the people around you. If you are excited about what God has done in your life, then why not share it ?
You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless. James 2:20 NIV

Week of June 19 The word redeemed means to buy back by paying a price. The Bible declares that we were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. His blood is the red coin by which our salvation was purchased. We're not redeemed by the beautiful example of Jesus' life, but by His shed blood. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
1 Peter 1:18-19 NIV

Week of June 26 Love is a choice and a commitment. You choose to love or you choose not to love. The world would have us believe the myth that love is uncontrollable, that it's something that just happens to us, it's not something we can control. Love doesn't just happen to you. Love is a choice and it represents a commitment. There's no doubt about it, attraction is uncontrollable and arousal is uncontrollable. But attraction and arousal are not love. They can lead to love, but they are not love. Love is a choice. You must choose to love God, he won't force you to love him. You can thumb your nose at God and go a totally different way. You can destroy your life if you choose to do that. God still won't force you to love him. Because he knows love can't be forced.
...that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 30:20 NIV

Week of July 3 The world is filled with people working as hard as they can to try to pay for their sins. We are running around with a false sense of religious guilt that causes us to try to make ourselves worthy of God's forgiveness. It seems logical to try to pay God back for what He has done, because that's the way everything else works in the world. But God's grace and love defy the logic of the world. When Jesus died on the cross, He spoke a very unusual word: Tetelestai. Though often translated "it is finished", this Greek accounting word literally means " it is paid in full". Not partial, not a down payment that God made so we can pay the balance of forgiveness through our own efforts. No, He said, "paid in full" Through His death on the cross, Jesus absorbed the punishment of our sin- all of it. When he has received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished". With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 NIV

Week of Jul 10 ;D ;D ;D When a man surrenders his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, a spiritual transformation takes place within him.
Christ invades, comforts, and overthrows the dark self-centered seats of power in the human soul. The spirit of life in Christ has replaced the spirit of sin and death.
The man we used to be actually died and has been replaced by the new man that God is making us into. We had to die so that the life of Christ could be revealed in us. ;D ;D ;D
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 NIV

Week of Jul 17 The Bible isn't merely a classic ancient text that has stood the test of time, it is more than a masterpiece of literature and wisdom. God's word is alive. When I read the Bible in a spirit of readiness to hear God speak, He does. Words leap off the page as if they were written for me alone. Conviction burns through the fog of my denial and goes straight to my heart. God's word is living and actively engages the one who reads it. It comforts, it instructs, it motivates and it encourages. The Lord God Almighty is waiting to speak to you. Open the Bible t oday and listen to what He has to say. ;D ;D ;D For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 NIV

Week of Jul 24 Do you ever wonder if prayer really works? You're praying about something and Satan whispers to you, "This is a waste of time, forget it! Who do you think you are? What do you think you're doing? God is not listening. Don't waste your time." Prayer works because God is in control. The basis of all miracles is God's sovereignty. Why does He do one and not another? Because God is in control. We have to trust His wisdom and His goodness. Prayer can do whatever God can do. His resources are available to you. It's encouraging to know that things that are out of my control are not out of God's. I may not be able to change a situation, but I can pray and God can change it. ;D ;D ;D
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

Week of July 31 If we are to become like Christ, then we too must be abandoned to the Father. We must line up with the thoughts and plans of God so closely that we appear to be "at one" with him. Through abandonment, we walk so closely with God that, when people see us, they see the Father at work. The Jesus way is that you obey God's commands because you love God, not because you must obey God. By actively pursuing the purposes of God, you worship your Creator. This also gives you a Christ-like perspective on the daily details of your life, turning every decision into a moment of adoration for God. As you face decisions t oday, ask God to show you which path will be an act of worship to him. "If you love me, obey my commandments. " John 14:15 NLT

Week of Aug 7 Where are you with God? Are you afraid to go to Him and confess your sins in fear He might discipline you? Do you pull away because you know He knows? Do you cry out "Please God love me", forgetting it is you who pulled away? Ever hear of getting back in good graces with someone? It means to restore your relationship with them so they will think of you in a favorable way. To get back in good graces with God, we must be the ones willing to come forward and be cleansed. Once we do, He will say to us as He said to Jesus, "You are my child. I am pleased with you." His Spirit will once again rule in us and we will be thankful. and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
Luke 3:22 NIV

Week of Aug 14 Suffering is something we all experience at some point in our lives. We can suffer in many different ways. Our pain can be physical, or we can suffer in mental or emotional ways. At times like this we might ask, "Does God care that I'm suffering?" If we believe the Bible which says, God is control of all things, He is loving and wise, perfect and just, the answer is a definite "YES"God wants us to use these adversities to refine, mature, complete and perfect us. If we're wise, we will not waste this opportunity. ;D ;D ;D
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:16 NLT

Week of Aug 21 It is a risk of faith to believe in the perfect love of God. It is a step of faith to believe God is pleased with us and even proud of who we have become when we turn in His direction. When we turn in God's direction we are identified as His sons. Un like earthly fathers, God does this perfectly. We naturally draw parallels between our earthly fathers and God the Father. Part of the risk of faith is realizing this fact: regardless of your history, heartbreak, or parents, the relationship with Father God is like no other. For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

Week of Aug 28 ;D ;D ;D God doesn't desire more of our time sometimes; He desires more of our attention all the time.
Ever feel frustrated because you hear messages about getting closer to God and you definitely desire this for yourself, but you are inundated with so much to do already that this makes you feel guilty because you are too busy for God?
I believe you can pay attention to God while you are doing everything else. It's all about doing everything for God and seeing God in everything we do. It's about bringing God into work, the living room and the dinner table.
Worship is a frame of mind that always has God in the picture ! ;D ;D ;D
I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. Psalm 34:1 NLT

Week of Sept 4 Much of our frustration in our life is because we lack a proper perspective. We do not see the value and worth of our salvation or the richness and generosity of our God. God has been generous with us beyond comparison. He has given us everything. We are his sons, and we will inherit His Kingdom. Through His grace, we have eternal life, peace, joy forgiveness, and fellowship. He has given us His Son, Jesus Christ, who lives in us and is the source of the life we seek. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul ? Is anything worth more than your soul ? Matthew 16:26 NLT

Week of Sept 11 Pride is deceptive. The proud person is often the last to know the contents of their own heart. Our self-importance makes us desire to be number one. Instead of working toward our personal best, which is what God requires, we are determined to be better than anyone else. To get to that top position, we will constantly point to ourselves as the best and look for praise and compliments as the best and look for praise and compliments from others. Often we choose to be around people who are important and well liked but tend to ignore or talk down to those who are less admired. This is the opposite of how Jesus treated people. He gave the adulterous woman compassion, but referred to the Pharisees as whitewashed coffins. While we are chasing after prominence externally, our spirit becomes rebellious internally. We refuse to obey God because we believe we know better than He does. Pride will often cause us to compare ourselves with others. We can all find someone whom we can outperform or outwit, but the person with whom we should compare ourselves to is Jesus - and we will find ourselves lacking every time. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others. Philippians 2: 3-4 NLT
