Week of Oct 10 ;D ;D ;D What is truth? How do you determine truth? What you believe to be truth determines how you behave- not just consciously, but often, subconsciously also.
Jesus came to testify to the truth, but there is one who exists and totally opposes the truth. Jesus came to represent the truth, and Satan is the enemy of Jesus and the truth.
Satan wants to exchange the truth of God for a lie. The devil has two great weapons that he uses:
Relativism- the assumption that there is no such thing as absolute truth; truth is evolving; truth is not constant
Subjectivism- the belief that I,the subject, have the right to determine what is wrong without submitting my judgement to any authority outside myself; since there is no absolute truth, you can't impose your belief on me, I am the source of truth.
Truth is not a "what" when relating to eternity; it is a "who". We as believers, live the truth because of God's grace and mercy.
;D ;D ;D

Week of Oct 17 God wants us to be happy, but He doesn't want us to be happy because it feels right, sounds right, and seems right. It must be because we are in the pursuit of God. God never gives us permission to do things that we know are wrong and unwise, just to make us happy. God wants us to be blessed, and He blesses us materially, but He doesn't want us to settle for those things that are counterfeit or false in any way, shape, or form. You were created for God's pleasure. If you seek first the Kingdom of God, and not the things of this world, all the things that you need in His righteousness, that bring Him pleasure through you, will be given to you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:16-17 NLT

Week of Oct 24 Most people don't know the meaning of commitment. They make commitments casually, then break them for the slightest reason without any hesitation, remorse or regret. Real servants finish their tasks, fulfill their responsibilities, keep their promises and complete their commitments. They don't leave a job half done, and they don't quit when they get discouraged. They are trustworthy & dependable. God is testing your faithfulness. If you pass the test you're in good company; Abraham, Moses, Samuel, David and Paul were all faithful servants of God. God has promised to reward your faithfulness in eternity. "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!"
Matthew 25:23 NLT

Week of Nov 15 Do you ever get tired or discouraged? I think we all do. Sometimes it seems easier to just give up. When we're discouraged, we become ineffective. When we're discouraged, we work against our own faith. Nothing really worthwhile ever comes easy in life. You keep hitting it and going after it, and little-by-little your life becomes a masterpiece of God's grace. The fact is, great people are really just ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of determination. Great people don't know how to quit! So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT

Week of Nov 21 Often, we get God's blessing confused with His love. God is bound, by His Word, to love us, and to love us unconditionally. But His blessing is conditional. He chooses whom He blesses. He blesses those who seek, pursue, lay hold of the Lord, and shun sin. Perpetual blessing comes to those who stays true to the challenge, whether times are good or bad. Don't be a person who rises to great spiritual potential and then allows the enemy to cause you to lose focus. You must stay in the field of harvest, and you must continue on. If you do, He will open the windows of heaven and bless you continually. ;D ;D ;D Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Week of Nov 28 The leftovers are packed away, or given out to family and friends. Thanksgiving is over and Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year. Thousands arise before dawn to camp out at the entrance to stores, waiting in anticipation for the doors to open to humongous bargains. Store owners anxiously hope for a stellar day of sales. They know this will set the financial tone for this Christmas season. Others will decide to stay home, watch the games on TV and not take advantage of the savings. A few more will wait until the last minute to do their gift shopping. What if we waited with as much anticipation for God's blessings to us as those shoppers camping out at the stores ? They are looking to save a few bucks, to grab up the bargains. His love is more than a bargain, it is freely given. All we have to do is take it, open it and claim it as our own. Like the store owners, He waits, hoping we will storm the doors and rush in to get it. This Christmas season, no matter the economy, no matter how many presents you can or can't afford to buy, take time to receive the free gift of Christ into your heart. It is the one present you should open every day of your life- His presence. He is waiting for you to come get it ! Once you do, there is so much more in store for you! Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 8:39b CEV

Week of Dec 5 Many are unfamiliar with the fact that our word "holiday" comes from an old English word whose original meaning was Holy Day . Even though our secular society seeks to drain all that is holy from Christmas leaving little more than tinsel and toys, eggnog and elves, we can bring back a sense of sacredness to the holidays. We can bring a sense of sacredness to our celebration of Christmas, simply by seeking to be holy ourselves. How do we embark on this journey of holiness ? Begin each day by taking time to speak with God and offering yourself to Him, to be used for His purposes. Read your Bible and meditate on God's word. Ask God for His cleansing power in your life. Be holy these holidays and let the world be in awe of what God has done in your life! But just as He who called you is holy,so be holy in all you do;

Week of Dec 12 ;D ;D ;D Most believers have noticed the intrusion of "Political Correctness" into our language at Christmas.
Centuries ago people began wishing each other "Merry Christ Mass". Somewhere along the way, the two words came together and the long "i" in Christ was made into the short "i" in Christmas.
When someone wishes us a "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" why not respond with "Merry Christ's Mass" If you do, make sure to say Christ's name correctly.
You might be surprised how many people will appreciate this opportunity to perhaps say, " Same to you !" ;D ;D ;D
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11 KJV

Week of Dec 19 ;D ;D ;D Imagine that you give someone a fabulous gift. When they receive it, they positively beam with joy, excitement and enthusiasm, and thank you profusely for giving them such a great present.
Then they toss it into their closet and ignore it forever.
Although we are not saved by our own works, our response in faith to God's grace given by Jesus' death and resurrection reflects the change which has occurred in our hearts as the Holy Spirit has come to live and work inside us.
If we believe we have found the greatest hope, the greatest love, the greatest truth in the world, how could we not share this truth with others. Let's accept God's kindness with thanksgiving, and not just put it on the shelf, but in turn offer kindness to others,so that they too might come to know the gracious God who proves such a wonderful gift for all who are willing to accept it. ;D ;D ;D
As God's partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God's kindness and then ignore it. For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you" Indeed, the "right time" is now. T oday is the day of salvation.

Week of Jan 2 ;D ;D ;D Happy New Year Some celebrated with a kiss at the stoke of midnight, or a toast of champagne or maybe a fork full of black-eyed peas for luck and prosperity.
Resolutions will be made, and adhered to for a few days....maybe. Promises will be made to exercise more and eat less, to love more and argue less.
But shouldn't each stroke of midnight be a new beginning for us? We don't have to wait 365 days to renew a right spirit within us. God's mercies are new every morning. He has bridged the gap between our sinful nature and His Holiness each day, each hour, each breath.
Happy New Year- Happy New Day of Hope God has given you yet another opportunity. T oday decide who you will follow. Celebrate new life in Jesus, who gave up His life for you. Shine His light for the world to see and draw near with awe. ;D ;D ;D
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

Week of Jan 9 Waiting patiently is not common in our fast paced society. We want instant everything and we want it with overnight doorstep delivery. We are in a hurry to get everywhere and once we get there we are in a hurry to leave. We are living in a horn honking, microwaving, fast food drive-thru, express lane world. Waiting may well be the hardest thing a person is called to do. But often waiting is the most valuable investment of our time. For it is in waiting that we grow. Waiting can be a spiritual experience, a resting experience, a growing experience, a strengthening experience, and a building experience. Most importantly, when we wait we have time to put everything else out of our life and focus on God. Remember the next time you get impatient that it may be God's time for you to wait so you can be ready to soar! ;D ;D ;D Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD !

Week of Jan 16 There are three things you can do with your life: You can waste it, you can spend it, or you can invest it. The best use of your life is to invest your life in something that will outlast it.
The worst thing you can do is to live simply for t oday and to live for yourself. God did not put you on earth to live for yourself. He created you to be like Christ.
As we seek to grow and become more like Christ, we need to learn how to live a life of service. This will help us create a lasting spiritual legacy.
You will never enjoy life fully- the way God intended for you to live it- until you learn it's not about you. So go, and live a life of service. ;D ;D ;D
My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - The work of telling others the good news about God's wonderful kindness and love.

Week of Jan 23 ;D ;D ;D Choosing to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you can ever make.
If you feel you are ready to make this commitment, you can do so right now by telling God you are sorry for your past mistakes, putting your trust in Him and asking Him to make you into the person He created you to be.
The precise words you use to commit yourself to God are not important. He knows the intentions of your heart. Your prayer can be as simple as "Please Help Me"
If you are unsure of what to pray, use this simple prayer to get started:
Jesus, I want to know you. I want you to come into my life. I'm sorry for the things I've done. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Only You can give me the power to change and become the person You created me to be. Thank you for forgiving my past mistakes and for giving me eternal life with God. I give my life to You. Amen
If you prayed that prayer, and truly meant it
, Congratulations & Welcome to the family of God ! ;D ;D ;D For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Week of Jan 31 ;D ;D ;D Serving others requires forgetfulness on your part. You need to forget your own needs. You can't be self-centered and serve the needs of another person.
The life of a servant requires the ability to forget our own needs in the process of tending to someone else's. Look to the needs of others, and trust God to supply your own needs.
Everyone we serve is someone important to serve. ;D ;D ;D

Week of Feb 6 ;D ;D ;D There is a secret to living a Christian life that many overlook. It is the discipline of maintaining a fixed focus on God.
Focusing on the troubles of your life only diverts your attention away from God. Nothing but Jesus Christ has the power to heal what is hurt or to correct what has been damaged.
Only God has the ability to calm your fears, lay to rest your suffering, and bring peace in place of frustration and sorrow.
When you face life's difficulties, keep your eyes on the Savior. He is the One who holds your course steady. And he will complete His work in your life. ;D ;D ;D
So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
