Week of Feb 13 ;D ;D ;D You can hear God's word each week by going to church. We hear the word through hymns and worship songs we sing during the sermon.
This involves not only listening with our ears, but having a heart to receive. Yet hearing the word isn't enough, the next essential step is to retain the Word.
As any teacher will tell you, the best way to retain information is to put it into practice. Not only must we put into practice what we hear from God's word, but we need to persevere.
Troubles will come, as will times of success; joyful events and seasons of heartbreak. Through it all, we need to continue to listen to God's word and put it into practice. ;D ;D ;D
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a good crop.
Luke 8:15 NIV

Week of Feb 20 ;D ;D ;D The Bible tells us that there is a God-shaped vacuum in our hearts. There is a hole in our hearts that only God can fill. We were made to be connected to our Creator. We were made to know Him and to be plugged into His power.
You're heart is designed to contain God. God wants to live inside of you, but when your life is filled with other things, there's no room in your heart for God.
This means you're not plugged into God's power and that's why you're tired all the time. And that's why you're stressed-out all the time and that's why you worry all the time.
Now is the time to de-clutter your life. Your heart was made to contain God, but when you fill it with worry and stress and guilt, you have no room for God. ;D ;D ;D

Psalm 51:10 NIV

Week of Feb 27 ;D ;D ;D We were created in God's image to do two things on earth. Learn to love God, and learn to love other people. Life is all about love.
The reason God wants us to love is because He is love, and He created us to be like him - to love. He showed that love by sending Jesus Christ to earth to die for you. He showed that love by creating you. He showed that love by everything you have in life, it's all a gift of God's love.
When you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, you will fully understand how God loves us completely and unconditionally.
Once you're secure inside God's unconditional love, you won't be as angry as you've been. You'll be more patient. You'll be more forgiving. You'll be more merciful, you'll give others grace.
It's impossible to love others until you really feel loved yourself. ;D ;D ;D

Week of Mar 6 ;D ;D ;D We all need two kinds of peace in our lives. We need inner peace, but we also need peace with others.
Inner peace begins with a relationship with God and it continues as we focus on His strength and allow Him to fill us.
If inner peace is eluding you, choose to trust God. He will guide you through the maze of life, if you ask Him.
Peace with others begins as we understand that God has called us to be peacemakers in our world. Is there an apology to be made or a silence to be broken that has stood as a barrier for too long ?
Don't miss the blessing God promises in your life as you respond to His call to be a peacemaker in your own circle. You can help bring peace to our world one heart at a time. ;D ;D ;D
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9 KJV

Week of Mar 13 ;D ;D ;D God wants you to be successful ! This does not mean He has an automatic plan for you to become rich or famous, although either of these may be included in His ultimate design for your life.
God's idea of success begins at the Cross where Jesus died. Success is not measured by what you do in life or what you gain financially. Your love and devotion to Jesus Christ measure your success.
Here is a lesson we need to learn if we are going to be successful: God anoints certain people to do certain things. He has placed leaders in our lives for a reason. If we want to lead, we must first learn to follow.
We are called to do the will of God, but this only can be done at the feet of Christ. ;D ;D ;D
Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ's return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.
Philippians 2:16 NLT

Week of Mar 20 Does talking about our Lord, Jesus, embarrass you? Staying quiet may seem safer than risking ridicule or being seen as a fanatic. Unfortunately, silent believers waste their life. We receive so many good things from God- forgiveness, healing, answers to prayer, and the Holy Spirit's presence. The list could go on and on. Our favorite subject should be Jesus Christ and His transforming gift of salvation. We may have lived a moral life before receiving salvation, but sin still separated us from God. Believers sometimes neglect that truth and forget Jesus' transforming power. Then we find ourselves too embarrassed or uncomfortable to share the greatest change He made in our lives ! So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. Colossians 1:28 NLT

Week of Apr 3 The fear of being alone... Most people avoid it. Some find it uncomfortable. Others consider it a form of rejection. But for the Christian, there should be no fear of being alone, for these are the moments God speaks to us the most. Jesus made a habit of separating himself from the voices of others. He treasured silence. As a matter of fact, he was immediately led into the desert following his baptism. He was alone for 40 days and nights, fasting and praying. Satan tried every trick in the book to derail Jesus, preying on his weakened state, but to no avail. Satan finally gives up. No doubt Jesus was stronger because of the time spent alone with God. He was able to fight off the devil before the angels came to assist him. He expected the fight, and was ready for it. If we learn to embrace the "alone times" by trusting in God, we will find ourselves strong enough to fight the battles that loom on the horizon. Then the devil went away, and the angels came and took care of Jesus. Matthew 4:11 NLT

Week of Apr 10 ;D ;D ;D Life is unfair. Find comfort in the fact that Jesus never promised us a fair world. He knew about unfairness - mocked by His brothers, slandered by religious leaders, betrayed by a friend, condemned to death for a crime He didn't commit.
Jesus modeled for us how to navigate through a world that is grossly unfair. His attitude was: Keep trusting the Father, for He knows best. When life is unfair, remember God is still good. Keep obeying Him and reaching out to those who are suffering.
Jesus hasn't promised us a fair world, but He has promised us victory. As a Christian, you have all the power you need for the problems you face. ;D ;D ;D

Week of Apr 17 Authentic fellowship/friendship is not superficial, surface-level chit-chat. It's genuine, heat-to-heart, sometimes gut-level sharing. It happens when people get honest about who they are and what is happening in their lives. They share their hurts, reveal their feelings, confess their failures, disclose their doubts, admit their fears, acknowledge their weaknesses, and ask for help and prayer. It's only as we become open about our lives that we experience authentic fellowship. The world thinks intimacy occurs in the dark, but God says it happens in the light. We tend to use darkness to hide our hurts, faults, fears, failures and flaws. But in the light, we bring them all out into the open and admit who we really are. Being authentic requires both courage and humility. It means facing our fear of exposure, rejection, and being hurt again. Why do it ? Because it's the only way to grow spiritually and be emotionally healthy. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
1 John 1:7-8 NLT
