Does anyone out here use the Proxxon Bench Drill Machine TBM115 with the Proxxon Micro Compound Table KT70? I am looking to purchase a drill press to use with my "Block" and I wanted to get some feedback on what folks are using. I have gotten feedback from Shade Tree on the Microlux drill press from Micro-Mark so if anyone has info on the Proxxon I love to hear what you think.
Thanks.

Does anyone out here use the Proxxon Bench Drill Machine TBM115 with the Proxxon Micro Compound Table KT70? I have that exact set-up and it works great, all I use it for is drilling axle holes and so far I have no complaints with it at all.

I'm in the same boat, trying to drill axle holes with my Lowes benchtop drill press that has a runout of about 1/2 inch makes alignment a little difficult...
I've looked all over for reviews on both the Proxxon and the Microlux and havnt had much luck.
So if anyone else could let us know what your using for a drill press that would be great.
Thanks- Mayhem

I got microlux with X-Y table might need some very good drill bits one reason I went with the microlux was price the deluxe model was on sale before Christmas for $174.00 & microlux the chuck comes with the drill press with proxxon you buy it separate

So with your microlux was there any adjustment needed to true up the chuck to the table? Also, did your microlux come with a regular drill press type chuck (i dont know the actual term) or what. I thought the proxxon had a chuck that was similar to a dremel tool that twists tight rather than using a key?

With the Proxxon, you have to buy the chuck separate. It comes with a collet type bit holder and that is what I use when drilling holes. I also have the Chuck but the I just use the collet to hold my bits. I use brad point bits from Advantage drill bits. I have some #43's and #44's from them. They are a bit pricey but it is a very good quality bit.

Carolina,
How much does your setup weigh? Any idea?

Carolina, How much does your setup weigh? Any idea? Scruffy21.... I would say the drill press and the X-Y table is around 10 - 12 lbs. It's very small only about 14" tall. It takes up very litlle space, yet it is extremely accurate.

THE BLOCK makes it easy to drill straight/perpendicular axle holes.
Even with my drill press.....

Well I broke down and ordered the Microlux today with the x-y table. Total price was $279 with shipping, so about $30 less than the proxxon.. I guess if my cars are still slow I can blame it on the fact I didnt order the proxxon..
