Well I broke down and ordered the Microlux *** *** TODAY *** *** with the x-y table. Total price was $279 with shipping, so about $30 less than the proxxon.. I guess if my cars are still slow I can blame it on the fact I didnt order the proxxon.. mayhem we're in the same boat price is the main reason I went with microlux I alway's 2nd guess myself

Can you guys post pictures how you're holding/clamping the Block to the tables/base?

If I remember, I'll take my Flip camera out with me tonight and take some close up video of my Proxxon with the X-Y table. I'll see if I can show how it does with "The Block".

I was able to get some video shots done last night. I'll try and get it posted tonight sometime. I tried my best to be as cool and smooth as Glenn.

Maybe this will give some insight to some people out there. Was I as slick as Glenn?

Carolina,
Thanks much for the video. Ordered mine this evening. Looks like the setup couldn't be any easier. I appreciate the time you took to share.

Thanks for taking the time to make the nice video. Looks like the table can be adjusted front/back so the pin can lay on the table surface and not over one of the table grooves.

Well my Microlux showed up and after getting it all set up, I decided to check how square it was, and needless to say, it was horrible. It actually had a wobble in it and would move about 1/8" side to side. It ended up the base was cracked underneath where the solid post mounts to it, and the post had damage to it as well, it looked like it was a used return part or something.
Now the fun part, I called Microlux and talked to the most unpleasant lady in the world. I explained that the base and post was damaged, and wanted to exchange them for replacements, and she said she has never heard of a post being damaged, and would only exchange the base. I told her I would email her pics of the damage, but she didnt seem to care. I asked if I would at least get a new set screw for the base because mine appeared to be cross-threaded, and she again said she wouldnt exchange it, that set screws never get crossthreaded. I told her that if she didnt replace the post, that I would just return the press and buy a Proxxon from Minicraft Tools. She said that since it was damaged, that before they would credit me back, they would send the press into the manufacturer to be determine the damage wasnt caused from excessive use.
I told her I hadnt even drilled a single hole with it, and she stated that is their policy.
So, I'm hoping that with the new base I can get the press to not have wobble and maybe even be square, but I'm not holding my breath.
If I had to do it all over again, I would just buy the Proxxon.

Sorry to hear about your trouble Miller. I know Shadetree just got the same mini press, but I don't think he had that sort of trouble. You seem to have my luck. If there is a lemon in the bunch, I'll end up with it. Maybe your new base will solve your problem.

I got the new base today, I had to grind down and smooth out the post as it had burrs on it and I didnt want to damage the new base. I got it all together and had to shim up the left side of my x-y vice with a business card to get the press square, but I can now say it is perfectly squared.
I got the email from Micro Mark today too, $154 when its normally $199... Just my luck!
I'm sure this one will work just fine, but the customer service at Micro Mark was enuf to make me only buy Proxxon in the future.

For only a few bucks more has anyone considered the Proxxon milling machine that comes with a x-y table? I'm assuming it can be used to mill out the weight cavities.
