Questions using the block... If the Block can also perform positive cant for the DFW, then why do I need to bend the axle? I realize it needs additional cant than the rears - why not use a larger 'pin'? If the drill press table is level, then it doesn't matter my work table is not level - correct? There is more going on in the DFW than just canting. The axle needs bent so you can steer the car, assuming you are trying to ride the rail. If you only drill a canted hole and insert a strait axle, you cannot adjust the amount of steer to allow your car to follow the rail down the track. Make sense? I would call it 'square' or 'true' not level. The drill press table needs to be square to the head in order to drill correctly. It needs to be at a 90 Deg angle both left to right and front to back. When you watch Glenn's video about the uses of the BLOCK, he demonstrates several things it can do for you, including checking this alignment. Hope this helps.

Caveat - I've owned a drill press for a month, and still learning on how to use it. So be easy on me! (i.e. Mood) ;D
I've read that The Block can help square the trueness of a drill press. I'm at a loss on how to do this. The instructions that come with The Block don't show how. Can someone tell me how - and would love to know anything else it might be able to help out with (and how to do it). Thanks!

I have the DVD, I don't recall it. I just watched the first six minutes till he has the axle holes drilled and no mention of it.

Chuck up the supplied pin in the drill press chuck and then use the block to check square of the pin to the table.
