I still think there is more speed to be found in these things. The wheels were not nice and quiet like the Jewkes wheels. If I had set of new ones that were CNC'd to make sure everything was perfectly round and true, there is no telling how fast they would go. Not bad for off the shelf wheels. They ended up running a 2.9525 six run avg.

They will be straight off the shelf with just a bore prep for oil and the outer hub surface turned down to remove the step. what do you mean bore prep for oil and what do you mean by removing the step thanks

also what are the differences between the old wheels and the new wheels. elaborate please with much detail. thanks again THERE IS A DOUBLE STEP IN THE OUTSIDE HUB WHICH WILL CAUSE DRAG... i WOULD LIKE TO SEE CAROLINA JUST PUT SOME WHEELS ON THE CAR WITH OUT THE PREP AT ALL AND SEE WHAT IT RUNS... YOU WILL ALSO SEE CAROLINA GET THE NEW EDGE PURESTOCKR'S FROM JEWKES AND DO THE SAME TEST... ;D coming your way real soon... THE NEW WHEELS WEIGHT IN AT 2.6 GRAMS VS THE OLD BSA WHEELS THAT WEIGHT IN AT 3.6 GRAMS THE JEWKES PURESTOCKR'S WEIGHT IN AT 3.2 GRAMS SO THE NEW 2009 BSA WHEELS SHOULD BE FASTER BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT REDUCTION... WHICH CARO PROVED BUT HE PUT SOME LITTLE TRICKS ON THEM... BUT THE TRICKS DID NOT TAKE THAT LONG TO DO WHICH SHOWS THAT THE NEW 2009 WHEELS ARE A BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER THE OLD BSA WHEELS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX WITH A LITTLE HELP... GREAT JOB WITH THE TEST JOHN... ;D does this help you... Glenn

As for the outer hub step, like Glenn said it's a double step. It will cause the axle head to rub the wheel farther from the center of rotation. That will increase your braking torque. I mounted the wheel in my lathe and cut the extra step out of the way. I took less than 20 seconds to do it. When you cut it out of the way, your center of rotation moves back to the point where the bore and axle meet and reduce braking torque. Next I balanced abd then polished the bores. Took less than 5 min per wheel.

Glenn Glenn,If you are talking about the new CNC'd purestockers,I can vouch for their performance. When I got to N.C. my Purestocker was running 2.97's.I bought a set of the CNC'd from John and ran a best of 2.963 (during testing) with only a couple adjustments. ;D

I think when I am done with them they will weight around 2.2 - 2.3 grams Glenn

Do you know what the final weights will be or do you prefer to keep it under a hat for now?
