So what's the final word on the new BSA wheels. How will they effect the 2010 Pure Stock season? Is the BSA going to discontinue the current wheel? Just curious what everyone thinks. My local BSA office still hasn't seen or heard of the new wheels.

I'll mention some info, that might help with part of your statement in regards to the wheels.
I spent many hours and e-mails the past few days, contacting the national supply center.
At first I hit the usually brick wall, of they did not know of any new wheels and ect.
But I ended up speaking with a lady today for over 1 hour and she has been involved for 30 years. She even made trips out to the warehouse.
But first it took alot of pictures already posted to show them there was new wheels.
There appears to be a real lack of information or communication going on with the new molded wheels.
But now they are really taking a look, so that when people call in and so forth to place orders, that they are up to speed.
This person put in several requests to other departments and even to the mfg.
She said she would get back with me in a few days. She wants to resolve this also.
As I had mentioned other issues with this also. in regards to pack rules and if they were going to come in the kit or just seperate wheels and axles.
I conveyed that they really need to get all on the same page to address this and to let others know.
She was very nice and willing to learn and work and go that extra mile.
She also mentioned that pwd items are there biggest sellers of items that they offer.
So if and when I get a update, I will be happy to post about it.

THE NEXT STRANGE THING IS, WHEN I RECEIVED THE WHEELS THERE WERE NO AXLES IN THE CONTAINER. THEY CAME IN THE SAME CONTAINER THAT THE COLOR WHEELS COME IN, WHICH SAYS 4 WHEELS AND 4 AXLES... HUM!!! NO AXLES IT IS ALMOST LIKE SOMEONE ELSE IS BUILDING THE WHEELS AND MAKING THEM LOOK LIKE A NEW BSA WHEEL... IT IS HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THAT NO ONE AT BSA KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE NEW WHEELS THE FUNNY THING IS THE NEW WHEEL LOOKS LIKE A THICKER ULTRALIGHT WITH BAD ENGINEERING DECISIONS ON THE OUT SIDE HUB DESIGN. PLEASE LETS US KNOW AS WELL I WILL TO... THANK YOU FOR THE INFO... THIS IS JUST MY

I've been at my local council office for meetings at least three times since the "new wheel" buzz hit. I make a point to talk to the Scout Shop manager when I'm at the council office. Each time I'm meet with same responce. "If there is a new wheel we know nothing about it"! So I stop by yesterday to pick up some re-charter information and the Scout Shop manager gets on the phone with the National Office while I'm there. They tell him they do not know anything about a new wheel. I guess the mystery continues, I really can't wait to see how this thing plays out!

They showed up in black this week at our Council Service Center as well.
They had ordered 20 sets of the Black wheels kits, 2 of the sets came with the new wheels and the other 18 sets had the old wheels.
Same packaging, same axles, etc., but new wheels. The folks behind the counter who are usually fairly knowledgeable about "changes" from National new nothing about the mold change.
Who knows what are in the complete kits...

I just got my hands on a set of Yellow and Black ones today. The people at the scout shop had no idea they were different. The red, orange and blue were still the old style wheel.
I can't wait to try these out. Just got to think about the step issue on the outer hub area. I got a couple of ideas.

I'm sending in a non-points car in October that will have these wheels on it. They will be straight off the shelf with just a bore prep for oil and the outer hub surface turned down to remove the step. The wheels will have nothing done to the tread surface and they are not mold matched wheels. It will be interesting to see how they stack up against the normal wheels all the other cars will be running.
