Growing up in the south during the '70s and '80s, I watched the Duke Boys put the smack down on Rosco and Boss Hog every Saturday night. I really loved that General Lee. Not to mention I grew up within 10 miles of where it was filmed in Covington Ga so I have seen the real thing in person. Boy, they destroyed allot of cars. Fast forward 20 years and a really cool movie came about with Wesly Snipes as the main character Blade. His car in that movie was a flat black '69 Charger. I thought that was the coolest looking Charger. I have always liked the simple Rat Rod look. So I decided to build a replica of the Blade Charger. Still gotta come up with a name. Still gotta come up with a way to attach it to the chassis and do the side windows. Any pics of chassis attachment would be greatly appreciated. Scott Beakerboys

It looks great, this is going to be exciting to watch. ;D
I cut a 1/4" slab, (after drilling my holes of coarse). Then to mount it to the car, I cut little balsa blocks. 1 for the front and 1 for the back. I epoxy each to the slab in the proper place, always do a check for placement before you glue them in. With the wheels on, I'll set the body on and then sand down the block heights until I get the body height like I want it. Next I glue velcro on top of the block and the corresponding piece on the car. Usually one will be under the hood and the other under the trunk lid. When I get all that just like I want it, then I will cut 1/64 plywood pieces to fit on the underside of the slab in order to fill in any voids or open spaces under the car. It also helps holding the chassis in there also. I'll try and get a few shots of mine by itself and mounted to the car in the next day or so.

Holy Cow dude. Those pics of the way you mounted your 69 Charger are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing those. I was kinda in the same boat as the Blade Charger, not sure how I was gonna mount the slammer I'm working on. Those really gave me some ideas. Nice and clean looking too. I love this website.

Well, gotta back up and punt. The Charger is sooooo long in the rear, it drags the track going into the curve. I drilled my rear holes 5/32 canted. I guess I'm going to have to redrill another chassis with a little lower rear holes or modify my body. I'm bummed! Scott

My son and I are setting ours up and I do not have a best track to practice on. Just curious how high it will have to be in the rear to clear. How does the front do and how high do you have yours?

Thank you sir, where can I buy the bodies? The bodies are your standard 1/25 and 1/24 scale model car bodies. You can get them at your local hobby shop or online. Ebay has a ton of them and you can usually get them at a decent price.
