Rules and Regulations For the Pure Stock Class
One Pure Stock car per Entrant per race but you can use any

**Requirements for the Race**
Wheel Base : Wheel base must remain as it comes in the BSA kit 4 3/8", You can not relocate the wheel base with respect to the front and back end of the original block. i.e. Cutting the back end or front end off and moving it to the front or rear of the car is not allowed. Original Axel slots or drilled holes are allowed.
Height : Not to exceed 2 -3/4 inches ( 7cm )
Length : Not to exceed 7 inches ( 17.8 cm )
Weight : Not to exceed 5 ounces ( 142 grams )
Width : Not to exceed 2 - 3/4 inches ( 7 cm )
Center Rail Height : 1/4 inch ( 7mm ) *
Center Rail Width : 1 - 5/8 inches (4.2 cm) *
*Center Rail height and width are the actual measurements of the track, so you must build the car to clear these dimensions for the wheels to ride on the track, outside of the rails not on the inside.
The main part of the body must be made of Pinewood. Additional materials maybe added.
- 1a. Axle Diameter Allowed: ( Aftermarket Axles and Axle sets in the kit below.)
- Nails, must remain the stock size .086 - .096 are only allowed.
- Aftermarket Axles are allowed. As long as they meet the diameter requirements.
- Axles may be polished or reshaped to allow for faster
wheel spin but must remain in the diameters required.

- 1b. No bushing, bearings, sleeves, inserts inside or attached to the wheels, Axles or the body in anyway.
- 1c. Pinewood Derby kits are approved for the PDDR Jewkes Engineering Racing Events.

- 2. Wheels may be sanded and polished or lathed to remove mold casting burs and surface imperfections, to true the roundness of the wheel and to flatten the tread/contact surface.

[/li][li]The tread/contact surface of the wheel must be as flat as humanly possible.
[/li][li]Angeling, Reshaping, Canting, Rounding, Tapering, H-cutting, V-cutting, Narrowing the outside of the wheels and tread surface is FORBIDDEN.
[/li][li]No inside hollowing or modifications are allowed.
[/li][li]No cutting and piecing multiple sets of wheels together.
[/li][li]The small detailed marks on the edge of the wheels must still remain visible around the entire circumference.
[/li][li]Truing and polishing the axle holes, and coning the wheel hub is allowed. All other inside and outside surfaces of the wheels must remain "Stock" as they come in the kit. Drilling additional holes into any other part of the wheel is not allowed.[/li][/ul][/li][/ul]
- 3. No part of the wheel that comes in contact with the track may be painted.
- 4. Car must have at least 4 wheels.
- 5. No sharp objects on the bottom of car.
- 6. The main body structure must be made of Pinewood.

- 8. Axles and wheels must not be attached to any device that mechanically alters rotation and spin.

This is a Pure Stock Class, the cars are to be constructed with the materials as they came out of the box. You may also use aftermarket Axles that meet the Axle requirements. The builder can select the type of weighting material he/she chooses to bring the car up to weight provided it is permanently attached to the car within the specified dimensions. You can use your creative ability with a little wood shaping, wheel prep, nail prep, weight placement, alignment, and final finish with your favorite color and you will have a fun car to race and compete with some of the best of the best in the world... |
