Rules and Regulations For the Door Slammr's
One Door Slammr car per Entrant per race but you can use any Door Slammr car any month any year, points go to the builder not the car.
You can use any car that you have built over the years and keep using the same car every month or every year or build a new one.
**Requirements for the Race**
Wheel Base : You can relocate the wheel base with respect to the wheel wells of the car body, with a max wheel base of 5 1/2"... New cut Axel slots or drilled holes are allowed.
Wheel tread surface must be completely under the fenders...
Height : Not to exceed 2 3/4 inches...
Length : Not to exceed 8 inches...
Weight : Not to exceed 6 ounces (170 grams)
Width : Not to exceed 3 inches
Center Rail Height : 1/4 inch ( 7mm ) *
Center Rail Width : 1 - 5/8 inches (4.2 cm) *
*Center Rail height and width are the actual measurements of the track, so you must build the car to clear these dimensions for the wheels to ride on the track, outside of the rails not on the inside.
The main part of the body can be made of Pinewood or can be covered with a 1/24 or 1/25 scale plastic model kit. Additional materials maybe added.
- 1a. Axle Diameter Allowed: ( Aftermarket Axles and Axle sets in the kit below.)
- Nails, must remain the stock size .086 - .096 are only allowed.

wheel spin but must remain in the diameters required.

- 1b. No bushing, bearings, sleeves, inserts inside or attached to the wheels, Axles or the body in anyway.
- 1c. Pinewood Derby kits are approved for the PDDR Racing Events.

- 2. Wheels may be sanded and polished or lathed to remove mold casting burs and surface imperfections, to true the roundness of the wheel and to flatten the tread/contact surface. No additional weight reduction is allowed.
- The tread/contact surface of the wheel must be as flat as humanly possible.
- Angeling, Reshaping, Canting, Rounding, Tapering, H-cutting, V-cutting, Narrowing the outside of the wheels and tread surface is FORBIDDEN.
- No inside hollowing or modifications are allowed.
- The small detailed marks on the edge of the wheels must still remain visible around the entire circumference.
- Truing and polishing the Axle holes, and coning the wheel hub is allowed. All other inside and outside surfaces of the wheels must remain "Stock" as they come in the kit. Drilling additional holes into any other part of the wheel is not allowed.
- The tread/contact surface of the wheel must be as flat as humanly possible.
- 3. No part of the wheel that comes in contact with the track may be painted.
- 4. Car must have at least 4 wheels.
- 5. No sharp objects on the bottom of car.
- 6. The main body structure must be made of Pinewood or it
can be covered by a 1/24 scale plastic model car body. - 7. No part of the car may go beyond the front edge of the starting peg.
- 8. Axles and wheels must not be attached to any device that
mechanically alters rotation and spin. - 9. Pin or rod Axle types are not allowed.

This is a class for the builders who love to create real looking cars with full fenders, doors, windows, hood scoops, etc... The Pinewood Derby car must have a full body that resembles real looking Car/Trucks... Wheels must be set completely under fenders and are not protruding on the outside of the body reveling the tread area of the wheel... |
