I rode Rat-Bones back in '82. Loved em til my board got ripped off. What a bummer.

I personally have never used Mother's Plastic Polish.
I use a professional product called Novus. It's used mostly for cleaning and polishing automotive headlights that get "hazy or yellowed" It comes in different "grits", I use the #2
Here's a link : www.professionalplastics.com/NOVUS-PLAS
I have used the Micro-Mesh that Max-V & others sell. It works well and is water based so clean-up is a breeze. But I feel that the Novus works better.
Just my opinion, others may vary.....

I use the NOVUS # 2 myself on the wheel bores. The NOVUS just seems to give a better finish. It looks like black glass. I use Mother's Billet polish on the axles only as a next to last step. I finish those off with Selvyt cloth .

Great info Novus is also used in woodworking for polishing plastics used in pen bodies so if you have a woodworking store close you can save on shipping ;D Sometimes they will even give you a little sample sachet for free so you will come back... I am still working on the 5 freebies What other kinds do people use? I would like to learn more about what is out there

I just purchased some buffing compound at Home Depot. Hopefully it works, we will see.

I would be wary of plastic polish as it may tend to dissolve (maybe) the surface of the plastic. I myself use rottonstone mixed with paint thinner or just water. apply to pipe cleaner in drill and polish the bore. leaves a very smooooth finish I use the same for the axles. Rotton Stone is a very fine powder used in woodworking for polishing lacquer or poly finish. Very high luster finish for sure. I believe someone here stated that Rotton Stone was something like 2000 grit??
