Ok, I know posting that your kid won pack is kinda a boring thread, but I had questions about the races times.
First- My sons car is a BSA legal car made from the kit. It uses the original axle slots, has 1 gram wheels and Jewkes axles. Its a 3 wheel rail rider with 2" of drift for every 4'. Its your basic car.
The track is a 4-lane 42' best track with a microwizard finish line timer. We use Grand Prix software. If I measured correctly, the start gate is 48" off the ground and the track has 37' of racing surface. Again, I think this is a basic setup...
Well, here is his race times:
2.9330
2.9620
2.9300
2.9970
2.9500
3.0030
2.9070
2.9090
3.0190
2.9620
3.0230
2.9290
3.0790
2.9610
3.0030
2.9830
Average time: 2.9719
Fastest time: 2.9070
Slowest time: 3.0790
Would it be worth our time sending his car into PDDR to get our butt kicked by the big dogs? In an earlier post, someone told me the fast cars run sub 3 seconds, so does anyone know how far off we would be?
I ran a car in the open class, its cut from oak, three wheeler, extended wheelbase, standard bsa measurements, Jewkes holeshot wheels and speed axles, front end slimmed 1/2 inch so i could run jewkes holeshots normally.
Jewkes wheels and axles kicked royal butt, and I won the open class, here is the numbers-
2.8460
2.8460
2.8460
2.8540
2.8510
2.8680
2.8720
2.8700
Average time:2.8566
Fastest time: 2.8460
Slowest time: 2.8720
Crazy the car ran its first three heats with the exact time! We had to put a towel at the end of the stop section as it was going so fast it couldnt get stopped (scale speed 221mph).
Again, I dont know what class this car would even be in at PDDR, so if someone could let me know if its even worth my time even sending it in that would be great.
Thanks again to Jewkes for the most amazing wheels and axles, my son had a blast being on top again this year!
