Hey guys I need suggestions.I am trying the Stock class this year.My car was running good until I decided to "tweak" it and make it faster I decided the rear wheels needed a little more cant. After I bent the axles up a little,it started dragging the LR wheel on the rail (the left front is the steer if you are looking at the car) .When the pin drops the rear end shifts to the left(if you are looking at the rear of the car go down the track).I tried to undo my "fixes" but no luck.Even tried a new axle. The only way the wheel does'nt drag is if I pull it way out away from the body.Anyone know what causes this? I have never seen this before No time to build a new one

I had the same problem on one of my cars.As the the car left the gate and went to the rail the rear wheel on the steering sidewent to the rail . when the fr steering wheel went against the rail and got parallelto the rail, it pulled the rear body around toward the rail. I cut 1/16'' off the front {df] steeringside fr of the body and added a little extra clearance on rear wheel [steering side]. worked for me But i'm still learning how to rail ride. There are others here with more experience than me on this board.

There is a fine line between a killer fast run and a rail dragging nightmare.you should be able to tweak it by turning your axles.

I was having the same trouble with my stocker when I was getting it ready. I kept hearing this really high piched squeal. I had not heard it before in other cars I have built. When there was no squeal the car was fast, when it squealled it was as if an anchor was tossed out behind the car. I thought the wheels may have been binding on the axles. I changed out wheels (one at a time, and testing after each wheel). Kept hearing the squeal. I rolled the car down the track very slowly and noticed the left-rear wheel would some times rub and sometimes it wouldn't. Checking the axles again the axle in question was canted roughly 1 degree more than the other side. Corrected the angle and the problem was gone. I fought it for about 2 weeks. Now she runs nice and quiet.
