O.K. , Here the issue.
I had my Pure stocker dialed in to consistant 3.00's. Put the car inside an inlcosed glass case and there it sat for a couple of weeks untouched.
Went out today and decided to run her a few times and now all I can get is 3.01's. Relubed and still the same results.
The only difference is on the initial set-up it was around 30 - 40 degrees. Know it's around 60. I don't have heat yet where the track is so it's usually close to the outside temp.
Anyone ever had a car lose time just by sitting?

We have the same set up you have but it is in the basement.I have put a car down for just a short time and came back and ran it again thinking it would be the same but its not.I am not shore why but its got to have somthing to do with the temp

I think Sarge is right, i have noticed slower times with my cars and others cars in cooler temps.

I was getting the faster and more consistant times on the colder night. I was hoping to see a little better time since it was a little warmer. I forgot, it was also pouring down rain that night so the relative humidity was most likely at 100 % and making the air pretty dense. *** TODAY *** it is very low humidity. When you get down to hundredths and thousandths of seconds small things like that could make a difference.

I beleive I will blame it on the dirty wheels. I cleaned them up good and the speed came right back. I didn't know the aluminum would foul the tread like it did. I learn something new about these things everyday.

We have a new aluminum track. Describe the fouling of the wheels with the aluminum track?
After setting ours up for the first time we made some passes with retired cars. Noticed a difference with the wheel surface not noticed on wodden track. It was not dust because it did not wipe off with my finger or a wet rag. Almost like scuffing occurred.

When I would get into a lot of testing (50 to 100 runs) I noticed the tread would have a build up on the inner edges. Under a magnifying glass it looked like tiny bits of aluminum. I take 1500 to 2000 grit sandpaper and slightly sand to clean the tread. I then wipe with a cotton rag. The times would come right back. I now clean and wipe the tread after every second to third run and I haven't had the build up issue. My track was also brand new. It may be an issue with working in running grooves too. Maybe the more you use it, the less the problem will be. Just guessing.
