Thanks,

Proxon makes an extremely accurate drill press.I bought a TBM 115 about six months ago.It is very smooth,no play at all.I think it cost around $160.Hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend an accurate drill press (name and number)? Need to drill more accurate axle holes. Thanks, Jim Even if your drill press isnt that great, try a carbide bit. The cheaper bits seem to flex and follow the wood grain easier. A carbide bit will not flex. They are rock hard. Also try drilling at a slow speed. Try a few blocks at a time and choose the best one. After you drill the holes. insert the axles only and let them stick out of the block about 5/8", sit the block on a flat surface and bend down to eye level checking to see if ones off from the others. Its not perfect but you'll be able to see any bad ones for sure.
