first off good luck everyone for tomorrows race, i have sent in my first pure stocker named "lil missy". thats what i call my daughters when they need to listen real good.
i enjoy reading all the post and the info is great stuff. so i have a few questions on some areas i have not ventured to try yet and i know i will get some great tips here.
1) what is the proper temp and cooking time for a bare block ? 2)what is the proper steps for applying nyoil 3) best angles front and back for cant 4) wouldnt the tread surface being glass smooth induce wheel skip.
all i have for now.

I can tell you what I do for alignment. I like to have both back wheels flat and one front wheel flat. I will raise one front wheel since its a lot easier to align 3 wheels. Im looking to practice the railriding concept that Ive heard on this forum. As for drying out the block, I buy some "select" pine from home depot. Its very straight and has no knots. I plain it down and then cut slots using a mini table saw that I bought from harborfreight.com. I dont have to dry the block since its so light anyway. As for the wheels, I simply dip my finger in graphite and hold onto the wheel while its spinning in the lathe. Ive had good results and no wheel skip. I hope this helps a little

However, baking removes moisture in an abnormal way, and the wood will try to regain it faster in high humidity climates. You would be better off selecting a low-mass body style.....and remember that you are supposed to use the block from the kit in Pure Stock.
- If you are going to use oil, dump the nyoil & use Krytox 100.
- .015"-.020" on rear axles......010"-.015" on DFW axle. Be careful when canting as it multiplies steer......harder to find sweet-spot.
- Tread surface smoothness should not cause wheel to skip.......If you are canting, that is a non-issue. The wheels will ride on the inner rim only. Always keep the wheels wiped clean & free of debris.
