hi any pros help me out with this? I bought the speed axles and wheels from max velocity, which said I could use with no addl prep. the hubs are coned, axles polished nicely, I used the wheel alignment tool to put the axles in, but when I spin the wheels I get alot of wobble. I am not running a raised wheel, alignment looks pretty good, car rolls straight. what am I doing wrong? wheel only spins for less than ten seconds, thinking about not even sending the car in this month.

You may have a small burr in the bore. When I had a problem with a burr, I took a spare axle and rolled the wheel back and forth on a table top a couple of times applying some pressure. It seemed to smash the burr down. The wobble subsided drastically.
I'm sure there is a better way to get it out, but it's what I did.

Parrot Racing, Couple of questions..... How light are the wheels??
Are you spinning with lube?
What kind of lube? Dry or 'Juice'?
Is the 'wobble' side-to-side, or up/down ?
Lightened wheels, such as Edge SuperStockr's and 'other' brands, have less mass/weight to maintain rotational inertia. Spin times will be lower. The lighter the wheel the faster the frictional forces of the axle & bore will use up rotational inertia.
Spinning with lube will increase times.
Liquid lubes:Ny-Oil,Krytox,et al. have much lower/shorter spin times than graphite. I believe it has to do with surface tension. Many have found 'Juice' (liquid lubes) to be the fastest. But PROPER application is critical !!
Side-to-side wobble is very difficult to correct. I don't use wheels with side-to-side wobble. Randy @ MaxV is very easy to deal with, call him & see if you can get an exchange. Minor Up/Down wobble I've been able to correct with polishing the bore, then burnishing in dry graphite. Of course the axle shaft & underside of head need to be polished like a mirror.
Friction Management is the 'Holy Grail' of PWD racing.
[/b] I'm not the fastest guy on the board by a long-shot, hopefully some of really fast guys will chime in and give you their thoughts and ideas..... Hope this helps, still time to make this Saturdays race!!! ;D ;D [/font]

Parrot, Fast covered all the important stuff.I know that even though the wheels and axles can be run with out any additional prep work I think you can and should do some additional prep. The wheel bores could use some extra polishing and I have used the same axles after some 2500 to 3000 to mother's mag polish. Hope this helps, KOH

seems like there is alot of play in the wheel bore, is it possible the wheel bore is too big or the axle is to thin, I used hob e lube, they are the bsa wheels that have been mold mark sanded and coned, with axles deburred and polished. wobble seems to be side to side

Have you installed them on the car yet and run the car down an alignment board at least. You will be able to tell a lot about the condition of the wheel when you see it in motion. KOH
