I was wondering since a low C.O.G is preferred, and there is usually plenty of low clearance, if anyone ever pours the lead to be thicker than the routed space (not flush or countersunk) so that it hangs about 1/8" below the body. It seems that a few of the cars I have built that I have done this with perform better on the straight portion of the track.
Thanks RC

Only the thickness of a penny from the track, rides between the center rail.

I would wory that the weight would hit the side rails if the car decides to veir one way or other? I thought the min height clearance was 3/8"?? BSA rules? just wondering

RC We measure it all the time here at PDDR and we don't have a clearance rule, all you got to do is clear the track if you don't want to scrub the bottom..... ;D that will make you slow down... Also if your car has low ground clearance you will not fit the go-no-go box... we use one of those also just to test length, width and heigth...
