I have the small screws for holding an axle in place. But I need a small threaded brass tube to glue in the wood then put the small screw through the brass tube.
Where can I find the brass tube?

......here is another good one: www.smallparts.com/They have everything small you could probably imagine. Before you do any snooping around the website - hold on to your jaw so that it does not fall off & hit the ground. I just received some goodies that I ordered from them. (very speedy delivery)

Wow! Thanks for the quick responses.
I need the pipe to be threaded inside. Or I guess I could thread it myself but prefer it to be already threaded as it is going to need to be really small.
What are others using on their cars to hold the set screws?

What are others using on their cars to hold the set screws? I believe that if you drill a hole close to the size of the setscrew the setscrew will 'cut' it's own threads. We're talking pretty thin wall tubing, made of soft brass. Some just thread the setscrew into the wood, not use a tube sleeve. I personally don't use setscrews, but this board has some sharp racers that will tell you what they do.

I don't use set screws either, I just drill a #44 hole about 3/8" from the outside edge of the body, and use a drop of glue to hold in the axles. I have never had a problem using this method, and the axles can still be removed with minimal effort. David
