:-/Our cub Pack is considering investing in a new Pinewood derby track, our current wooden one needs too much TLC now each year to function properly. I saw that some members of this forum compared all the regular EBay seller cars, well can any members advise us on their opinions on the relative merits of aluminum (anodized or not) versus plastic tracks. As of now we are looking at SuperTrack (plastic), BestTrack (aluminum) Derby Magic (PVC plastic) and Piantidosi (aluminum). we do not want to build a new wooden one.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. well we at pddr have the 42' best track and love it... it takes some time on prep before you can set it up but the out come is awsome...once you have the tracked preped... it only takes 10 min to set it up... top it off with a micro wizard timer and you have a very nice set up... the lanes are very consistent if done proper... I'll second the vote for the 42' best track but, with the option of "The Judge" timer. HyperDrive

Glenn / 2fast4u / PDDR Hey Glenn, If you don't mind sharing what kind of prep work have you done with PDDR's BestTrack?I know you have a nice area to set it up in ;D,but how do you go about leveling and cleaning and any other maintenance you might do?We just received our 2nd lane for our 35' BT and any insight into prep, setup and maintenance would be very helpful. KOH And Marks7777 we really do like the convenience of the besttrack setup,we have to set ours up and then take it down so this was important consideration for our purchase
