I have a new car I am trying to get ready for stock class. It starts off really fast, but after it hits the transition zone,it slows down.It jumps ahead of other cars at the start by about one car length. It does'nt have that problem with pure stock wheels, only with the lightened. Any suggestions???

Any suggestions??? Well first off what kind of track you testing on? What wheels are you running? The lighter weight wheels will start to roll quicker than heavier wheels.. but Thats probably not your problem for the car to slow down... Slowing down a car that gets up to speed faster is more likely to be an alignment problem, caused by the speed of the car making the transition to the flat. Faster going into the flat you will need to make the car run more stable than a slower car, the high speed will tend to make the car go into a wobble and slow it down much more than a slower car going into the flat... Also length of track will cause the car's to slow down, different car's at different lengths... Wheel gaps between the body of car and the hub need to be much closer when speed of car has increased... Running and tuning on one type of track will differ from track to track. Setting up a car on a track like we use the Aluminum Best Track, requires an different alignment set up than on a less slope(slower track).

I have a 32' aluminum beta craft track, with a steep slope (it looks comparable to PDDR slope). The wheels are Max Light 1 gram(sorry I already had them on hand) ;D.I never thought about the body a hub spacing but it makes sense.I also wondered about weight placement like Mood suggested. This is the first I have really experimented with the lighter wheels, looks like I have some studying to do

Hey I like moods answer lets put the finish line at the bottom of the hill... ........ Hey the wheels should not make a difference on the car it should run faster with the lighter wheels... unless you did not polish the 1 gram wheels, I do not think the max wheels come prepped that takes a lot of time that is why I offer it separately on the edge wheels... make sure that the wheels on the rear do not move toward the body when it rolls forward... that will cause major slowing... How straight is the car running in 8' Wait forget all that I said, it is the wheels... You do get what you pay for... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
