Hello all,
My son and I are new to the 'Professional' ranks so please excuse us if this is posted in the wrong place.
We were looking through some of last season's results and noticed there are some entries 'red-ed out' and listed as 'no points awarded'. Why is this? Did they fail to pass tech-in and were just run for time only? We were just curious.
We're planning on finishing up our cars for this year's pack derby at the end on Jan. and then shipping the best performer up to Utah. Problem is, all of our designs incorporate long wheelbases and 'pure stock' wheels. So, we're either going to have to order/make a set of lightened wheels (time may be an issue) or build a short wheelbase car for Feb. saving the long wheelbases for Mar. We'll have to see how much shop-time we can allocate of the holidays.
One other question (since I seem to be rambling on): How did everyone get such nice graphics to post in their signatures and avatars? We've played with the settings and can't seem to get it right and didn't see any tutorials in our searching the forum. Any help would be appreciated since my boy's worked pretty hard on his logo as well this season. We seem to have made the jump to a full-fledged team (complete with minor sponsorship and logo!) this season.
Thanks for the help. Judging by the tone of ALL the posts we've seen so far, this is going to be a lot of fun - Even while we're getting 'initiated' (read - "butt-kicked") here at the beginning of the year!

well first off welcome to the board, its great to see another father and son team hit the race track.
you will find the best info and speed tips here at PDDR !
the red out items you speak of are the owners of this league and there house cars that we are all trying to keep up with and they race for the sport and fun of it each month.
i have only raced the stock class 1 month with a long wheel base and it was obvious at least my car needed the lightened wheels to compete so i have a set ready for 08.
send in a pure stocker for February !! we all want to see it run for sure.
the great graphics on the board are mostly the work of a certain individual who will surely chime in here later and give you some pointers. but what i do know is you will need a account at photo bucket.com its free
good luck and send in the car regardless

Thanks guys. We'll have to see where car building ranks after the wrapping paper comes to rest tomorrow morning! It's possible that this father son team will be a man short for a while!
Merry Christmas everyone!
