Ok...so I finally had a chance *** TODAY *** to do some testing with oil. I purchased the ___ video to get a better understanding on how to prep the bores and axles for oil. Using the products provided with the video I followed the steps for preping the wheels and axles. After the suggested dry times for everything I applied the oil and installed the axles. Then I spent a few minutes on the tuning table and off to the track I went. As per the video John says to give it about 10 runs to break in the oil. My first run off the starting gate with oil was faster than my best run with graphite. I couldn't wait to see what would happen after 10 runs. Around heat 12 the car improved and ran its fastest time. To say the least I was pretty impressed with the ___ oil method and products. This was my first ever attempt with oil and I'm loving the results. This is some of the data I wrote down during the testing.
Track: 42' Best Track (26 degree slope) Timer: Newbold (Diode is in Center Hole Drilled By Besttrack) Car: Door Slammer Corvette 4 1/8" wheel base
Graphite Best Time: 3.058 Oil Best Time: 3.029
Oil Range Of Times After 20 Heats Fastest 3.029 Slowest 3.049
With a little more attention to detail I'm pretty sure I can see even better times with oil. The wheels are already turning on how to pick up some more time. Can't wait to do some more testing.

Ok...no more testing needed. I'm late to the party as usual, oil is king . So after testing my Door Slammer last night with great success I decided to try a new test subject *** TODAY ***. I broke out my Graphite PS'r that I ran at PDDR in April and May. Here is a little history on the Car April Race Best Run On My Track Before Shipping - 3.049 Best Run at PDDR - 3.024 May Best Run on My Track Before Shipping - 3.051 Best Run at PDDR - 3.063 Upon return shipping from May I ran it out the box without re-lubing and it ran a 3.13 on my track. At that moment I was thinking firewood would be a great option for this car. I'm not going to lie I was pretty dissappointed after the may race. I had peaked with graphite and wasn't sure how I was going to pick up some speed. So this moring I pulled the wheels and axles off my Door Slammer after 30+ heats over a 14 hour period with the ___ process. I then installed them on my PS'r and tuned the car on my tuning board. I did not re-lube I just tranferred the wheels and axles. This is what I registered after 4 runs: Run / Time 1 - 3.023 2 - 3.033 3 - 3.045 (car had a mean wiggle at the transition) 4 - 3.039 Test complete, time to retire my graphite for now. I hope this info helps anyone who is thinking about giving oil a try. For me the ___ prep process worked pretty easily, thanks John for opening my eyes and making your techniques available. Now I'm off to the shop to start a new PS'r.
