Last night, I assembled my 35 foot best track to do a little tinkering. After the 5th run the timer made a boo-boo. It just faulted out. I hit the reset button and tried again. Then the Champ timer started reading 0.000 seconds for the number 1 car and appropriately listed it as number one. The second place car seems to be logging the difference in time from #1 to #2. An example is that the first place time is 0.000 and the second place is 0.015.
I tried to get the timer into test mode…..Nope it won’t go. I tried killing power for 20 seconds. No change. Then I killed power for 30 minuets….. Nope, it won’t go.
How do I get the Champ timer back to normal mode reading the first place actual time and the second place actual time? There is also an important feature that I may like to know how to toggle back and forth. When I take the track to Cub Scout races, I can place the timer in stupid mode. That could keep the excitement up for the Kids and parents. In that mode they will not know who the big dog is after the first round.
This is a huge pain in my backside. I am trying to get a car ready for the April 2nd PDDR race and guessing is not an option. I am trying to get a 100% BSA legal, 100% BSA parts car, to run with the big dogs at the pure stock race. I don’t think that I can get the car to win, or set a track record using the BSA parts. I think that I can get it in the thick of things. That is my general idea. Race on sunday.... sell on monday! That is not a simple task. Using a standard car that is running 2.57 consistently for comparison is not that good. Did that little tweak loose .002 seconds, or was it a standard deviation? The last number doesn’t tell me that much inthe current mode.
I do have the computer interface, and can re-flash, or program if necessary/possible. Any real help would be appreciated.
