I've got a car I need to change from 91SGA's to BSA axles. Rules state that cannot use oil and cannot use after market axles. And yes they check. I can still have DFW, but no grooves.
I'd like to keep the wheels. How do I 'clean' them up for graphite use? How do I prep the holes so they can properly fit BSA axles?

you can wash your wheels with alcohol and a pipe clean and then use graphite but i would git new wheels because if you put graphite in them its hard to get it out completely so that you can run oil again try some wood glue on your axle holes or you can put dental floss around your axles before you install them

Made the switch. Found out oil is okay. Inconsistent runs on track. Suspect it's the smaller axles in the too large of holes. They're still coming looses using dental floss. I'm just putting a small strip in hole. Should I be wrapping the whole axle with it? On average lost 1/10 of a second. Stinks cause it was running good. Should I consider gluing axles?
