Fellas cars just got done last night ran them on the tuning board and adjusted as needed. Whats next? how do i get these car to run their fastest times? How much graphite do I need to add. I do have a 24 ft home made track no timer or anything. should I just start running the car down the track as much as I can? spend time spinning wheels? does anyone have a system that works for you?
Thanks KB

Without a timer, it will be too hard to tell if you are making any progress. When you are fighting to gain a couple thousandths of a second, only a timer can gauge that. There are times that my cars look slower, but turn faster times that i expect....and of course there are times when I swear that it looked like a record setter, only to be disappointed by the result. As far as graphite, add as much as you can into the wheel bores (most everyone has switched to oil, however). Any excess will just spin out and make a mess, so be sure to do it over some kind of catch pan. Also rub graphite onto the tread of the FDW, but NOT on the rear wheels at all. Be sure to keep the wheels clean, watch for any wobbles and listen to how the car sounds. The quieter it is, the faster it should be.

If you have any extras, try swapping them out. Make sure your axles are straight and smooth and polish up the wheel bores as well.

BY THE WAY WHAT HAPPENED SINCE LAST YEAR EVERYONE WAS USING GRAPHITE. DID THIS JUST CHANGE OR WAS IT A BIT OF A SECRET LAST YR? KB MB 4 Hire was taking everyone to school with oil. He has a technique for prepping wheels and axles as well as his own blend of oil that blows graphite away.
