PLEASE READ This is not a Joke
On the average it takes at least 5-15 seconds depending on what car you are driving to accelerate a from 55mph to 125mph but only takes .05 seconds to shift a car into "NEUTRAL" the car would not even of increased 5mph more in acceleration. People should understand what to do when they are getting behind the wheel of an automobile and really understand how to drive it first. Watch this video first and see how there life's could of been saved if the guy from 911 could of walked them through the oh so easy "NEUTRAL TRICK" This video is 52 seconds long you could of stopped the car and and accelerated the car back up to 65mph+ in 52 seconds plus the amount of time it took for the car to reach 120mph and make the call. Save your life when your gas pedal sticks watch this to find out how

you can also do something slightly more difficult then what is said in the video. reach your right hand up near the steering column, you will feel something like a key ring with a bunch of keys on it, perhaps a small plastic remote feeling thing. grab that key that is in the ignition slot and turn the car off you do not want to do that. you could lock the steering wheel up. do i need to make another video for ya did I not say neutral enough for ya...

When the car loses power (i.e. ignition being turned off) your power-steering can lock up as well. BTW, the neutral advise is also applicable when driving in snow, if you find yourself unable to stop toss the car in neutral your stopping distance will be decreased.

I am very shock right now... everywhere i go I have decided to ask people what do you do if the gas petal sticks down and the car starts to accellarate... no one knows what to do everyone that I have talked to would of died if I did not tell them Put the car in neutral then hit the brakes normal to stop the car. send a link to everyone you know, to watch this video we might be able to save someones life... I have been watching some of the you tube video's and everyone that has crashed there car, said the brakes did not work to slow the car down. the one crash that killed the family of 4 was on the phone with 911 for over 50 sec. yes 50 sec. even the 911 opperator did not know what to do... the driver could of saved everyones life in less than 1 sec. he had 49 sec left to listen to his favorite song on the radio as he could of been bringing the car to a nice easy safe stop...

I agree with you Glenn... I have known this from the start but many do not. After reading this post I talked to a Toyota owner. They were in total denial about the car even having a problem.
