i am very excited about this car. it is thin and slim and the COM is in a good place and the axle holes were drilled by a proxxon drill press. and of course its edge equipped. at first i was like 2.930 was set too low in comparison to the sub 3 time but i am glad it will be tougher to obtain. i know it will be a long time before i could compete with the top guys without a test track but i need goals in this hobby and it may take me a year or shipping my car to someone with track to tune it but its all good. anyways here is my april car - at least one them, i may build a 2nd car.

You're not kiddin' that's a thin car! The angle you gave us shows the rear cant nicely. Looks real cool. Is the body 1/4" ? Have you weighed it? Is the Proxxon DP a new item for you? I am still using my Ryobi with mixed results. It's got about a year to straiten up or else ...

I am still using my Ryobi with mixed results. It's got about a year to straiten up or else ... the car is 1/4 thin. the COM is between 3/4 and 1" BUT i havnt taken out the extra weight yet and when i do i will take it out of the front of the weight to give my COM around 3/4". the proxxon DP is new for me. i know my cheap drill press wasnt the best but i didnt realize just how SLOPPY it was until i used the proxxon. there were some other factors why my cheap press was no good. once i realized it wasnt exaclty level and comp. for it i went sub 3. thats when i knew it was time to get a new drill press. if you like i can drill a raw block to your specifications with the proxxon and mail it to ya and you can build a car from it to see if your times get faster. that might determine if you need a new drill press or not. i dont know anything about the brand you have so i dont know if it is good or not. just thinking out loud and offering if you like.

I can hardly beleive how generous people are in this league. You'd think it would be cut-throat because of how competetive it is, but I read thread after thread of generosity like this. I just ordered a set of drill bits from MB hoping to shore up that part of the process. I too don't have a test track so testing the cars isn't possible. I am hoping I can find one locally. Just a side note about ordering stuff (and getting someone's approval) go for it all the first time instead of being conservative. I was just going to get a set of wheels and axles and easily got the nod for more. Now that I'm placing a 2nd order I'm gettin' the look ... Burpin, you can bet I will take you up on your offer. I'll send you a PM. Also, did I read this right? You have drilled the holes, cut the shape, painted the car all before lightening and weight placement? Wouldn't you be concerned about damaging the paint ?

btw love the name woodbutcher - that was me a year ago. i think most people are generous because we are racing ourselves or trying to beat our own time. maybe if i was a top builder and had a chance for first i would think different, ok probably not, i help all that want it. and so do the top builders, everone seems really cool here, even DT i drill the holes first, cut the car, rough sand it, pour the correct amount of led, fine sand it, paint it, then drill out the extra led to get it closest to the COM im looking for. its not always perfect but effective. the com usually ends up real close to where i want it. another thing is this is a racing league - so i see us all on the same team. and when we race at nationals - naturally we vote for our guys or classy chassy who whoops my butt everytime. (if she was a guy i might not like it) maybe one day this league will place in all the spots shutting everyone out. then we can grow and glenn can do this full time and keep producing great products making all of us faster. and when we race on our local levels it almost isnt fair to everyone else, but it is.

Didn't realize I was (alomost) sharing the name. Years ago in the CB days, it was my Dad's handle. He's a carpenter. By DT do you mean Dark Tower? Where's he been ?
