Hi, I was thinking of ways to clean the wheel bores and treads of my sons car after the pack race when we are allowed to relube his car before it is confiscated for distrct. The axles are glued in. I was thinking canned air for the bores and a toothbrush for the treads then relube. Do you think this is a good idea? Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Use a Magic Eraser on the treads, spin them slowly while resting them on it, works wonders, just saw it for the first time last week.

Thanks for the tip. Do you think lightly blasting the wheel bores before relubing would be benificial? I read about times droping due to caking and contaminents and such. Is there anything canned air contains that might damage the wheel bores or leave a residue? I know not to hold the can upsidedown or it will freeze the wheels.

Clean the wheels and re-lube.
On the re-lube hold the car sideways and place a touch of graphite on the outer hub and flick the wheel with your finger two times...

Unless your running oil just simply relube like W has stated. If your not changing the set up there would be no reason to clean the bores out with just a few runs on the car. Relube then keep the car still. I've seen a lot of people add fresh graphite then tilt the cars and bump them around. That can let your new lube simply fall out. Lube it and handle it like it's fragile glass. Take this with a grain of sand because I'm not a pro - but I play one on TV. ;D

Burp, I couldn't make any money if I was that kind of pro. My pure stock car performs better than I do.
