I f you are looking for graphite, and we do not get paid for the plugs, I wish we did...

hob e lube has won us all of are national titles...
I have tried almost every graphite out there... and hob e lube has given us the best results for graphite...

with the right wheels prep and axle prep this is my choice for graphite...

now nija is talking oil, this is a different story...

Johns graphite is faster on some of my cars and other HOB-E-LUBE is faster. So i suggest getting both and trying them. Just my two cents.

Back when I used graphite, I used Kadee Lube. I analyzed both it and Hob-e-lube and the HEL had a little more moly. On everything I tested here at home, the Kadee was about 0.005 to 0.01 faster. It still all came down to the bore prep and treatment. The Kadee reacted better with what I was doing. We got to do our last Scout race and I can get rid of the graphite finally. I think I will give my Kadee back to the guys at the model railroad club, that is where my first tube came from anyways. ;D

pony: Don't over heat the axle. I did that once too and I had to resand the axle. Two seconds of the flame is all I did. I hold the axle in the drill chuck, heat it then immediately spin it against the silly putty. I then wipe the axle down by hand. Feb 23, 2018 22:02:58 GMT -7

pony: I do the same technique with the hard ski waxes which I use a lot. You can heat the axle or if you don't want to use the heat just hold the hard ski wax against the spinning axle. Use high speed. The ski wax transfers by friction and the heat of the spin. Feb 23, 2018 22:06:02 GMT -7

pony: Remember though you still need some form of silicone on the axle after the ski wax. Plastics on steel always needs silicone. I don't have the technical know how to do a video and post it. It's the same process as polishing compounds and polishing wheels. Feb 23, 2018 22:09:47 GMT -7

pony: In everyday Cub scout races the Jig or the Max-Pro is good enough. The Silly Putty was only .001 faster. If the Silly Putty feels old and dried out I'd try to get some more and just use the heat of the spinning axle to get it to transfer over to the axle. Feb 23, 2018 23:45:42 GMT -7
