I was recently reading the listings on ebay for derby cars. I could almost hear the piercing whine of the seller complaining about the TOXIC LEAD used in others' (read Jewkes) cars.
He even expounded on the evils of drilling axle holes, instead of taking the somehow more honorable route of using the slots.
Yet, there are no bids on his cars at half the price of the Jewkes number 3 car, currently bid at over $200. Hmmm, maybe buyers are able to discern when they are being fed a load of you know what. (If only people could do this in the field of politics).
So, I issue this warning to anyone lucky enough, and well-healed enough, to win the Jewkes car:
DO NOT EAT THE DERBY CAR!!
I know it looks good enough to eat, but please, just race the car, collect your trophy, then go out to eat afterwards.

After chewing all those lead split shots fishing. Then rolling Mercury around in my hands. Then working as an auto mechanic blowing off brake dust and removing lead paste from those lead burning engines. Now working with fiberglass and lead paint being a remodeling contractor. Isn't that car tungsten weighted - adjustable even by the description here? Hey, Team Casmier, you're right about the #3 car, but I still think he's especially referring to Jewkes, especially with the emphasis on drilling axle holes.
