I purchased a special tool last year for pulling axles from the car body. However, I've seemed to misplace it. Looked everywhere, retraced my steps, can't find it, it's gone. In any case, I don't have time to reorder a new one so I thought I would ask if there are any other common tools I can use to do this safely without harming the axle or wheel. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know.
Thanks

I use a wooden dowel with a holle drilled in the center, then split the dowel equally length wise. Next I put a piece of dowel in the middle of the the two pieces and wrap it with electrical tape, it works like tweezers. Then I chuck an axle in the drill press and groove the inside tip of the axle tweezers to provide grip. They work very well. Hope this helps. [
