Thats what I'm up against for our race mid November. I'm leaning towards a raised wheel railrider, canted back using The Block.
Thanks KB

It's a proven fact that RR is faster than strait. Why not go with faster? Let the others run strait. Tell the others that your car fell on the floor and that's why the front axles are out of whack! ;D

Your wheel(s) are going to rub the rail no matter what you do, especially on a rough track, so choose 1 wheel (rail riding) instead of possibly all 4 if you run four down.

I'm a strong believer in rail riding....it's a proven method for speed. But before we get you to drink the cool-aid could please give us some additional specifics on your track. What type of slope and is it painted lanes?

that looks as long as my 1st test track.

Im pretty sure its 32. I think the angle of the picture makes it look smaller. KB

A standard free through lane is 12 feet wide....that would make that track 32'. That picture is deceiving, it does look smaller. With that slope and distance I would cant the rear and rail ride. Are you able to get some test runs in before the race? If so maybe you can tweak the steer a bit before the hammer drops.

Guys thanks for the input. What do you mean by less aggressive?

Less aggressive means less steer than normal for PDDR's 42 foot track. However your car will be plenty fast on that track even if it has a bit too much steer in it... Shade Tree has posted how to adjust the steer if you have time on the track... Where is the COM set on the car?

This is it...is'nt she a bute clark! Thanks for your advice KB Oh boy look at that beauty... looking at the track it looks like it has a jump just after the hill. the joints look ok but it is hard to tell from where i am setting... the track looks pretty short if you take a look at the guys foot standing next to it... this is how i would set the car up... cant rear axles... rail run with about 8 inches of steer in 8 feet... set your cg's at 1.5 inches in front of the rear axles narrow the front end on both sides of the car so between the bottom inside edge of the wheels are set at 1 3/4 of an inch if you can go less then go 1 11/16th this will help keep the car from going into a wobble from a bumpy track and it will keep the rear wheels off the track... do not have the forth wheel free spin... oh use the new 91sga axles and the 2010 PureStockr's, if you can the 1.0 gram SuperStockr's will dominate that track... ;D Glenn

Glenn thanks for the set up advice. I'm glad I posted the picture because it seems like the shape of the track is changing allot of what is recommended on this forum. I would like to just clarify a few things.
1. com 1.5 in front of rear axle? so like most cars dont load the weight in the back end? Is this to keep it from fish tailing down the track? 2. narrow front end on both sides. I'm assuming equal amounts or more on dfw? 3. do not have the fourth wheel free spin. I'm not sure what this means, I was planning on having the front left raised, and loading up my dfw with graphite 4. The new products you recommended can they be used for an awana race?
Thanks Guys I cant tell you how much I appreciate the advice I'm relying heavily on this forum! last question.... I'm taking the wood down to 1oz is that to much?
