I just watched the video for the first of many times and I really enjoyed it. Thats pretty amazing to make a car that fast so quickly. One of the things I was really impressed with was the lead trick. Weight and weight placement has been one of my problems and you made that look pretty easy (thanks for sharing). You should keep coming out with the videos I would definitely be interested Im always looking to improve. Watching this video brought up a question for me. I was looking at your ruler fence on your drill press and it looks like it was all over the place, different angles, it did not look square to the drill press deck. I spent a half hour the other night trying to square my deck then square my aluminum fence. Doesnt the fence need to square to the bit to get perfect holes on each side say on the back of the car. THANKS KIRBY

As long as your table is 90 degrees to the bit it doesn't matter. No matter what angle your fence is you'll drill perfect axle holes. Glenn would say something like this "That is the beauty of the BLOCK!" And he would be right!

Doesnt the fence need to square to the bit to get perfect holes on each side say on the back of the car. What you're really asking is if the fence needs to be square to the table and as answered already the answer is no because the drill bit is making a circular cut. As long as the table is 90 degrees perpendicular to the drill bit, the fence will be parallel to the bit regardless of what direction you approach the bit from. The same situation can be seen on a router table, the fence does not need to be square to the router table as it doesn't matter from what direction you approach the router bit because it's making a circular cut.

You just need to make certain once you drill one rear axle hole that you don't move the fence at all until after you flip the block and car over and drill the other rear axle hole. Great tip!
