For the upcoming October race, what's the minimum length of time needed for primer and paint? I've got duplicolor paint and the temperatures vary from high 60s to mid 80s. Thanks!

Your choice, I have the suv/truck large can paint and the import short can paint. One color.

You are using the Duplicolor laquer paint. I use that on most of my cars...
Be sure to use the Car primer and car clear (If you are using clear) You can primer paint and clear very quicly. Once you are done it will dry fairly hard in a couple days...
My PDDR paint jobs (so far) are too rushed to look nice. Fortunately the Jewkes are kind about that :-)
If I have time I like to primer sand / primer for a few morn/nights.
I use the high fill primer from Duplicolor. It is meant for autos...
Then you can paint / clear all in one shot and ship the car two days later.
However if you get more fancy you can sand between coats of paint. Which adds time. Which I have done for BSA cars with the kids...
Hopefully someone will post the complete steps for rattle can laquer. Cant wait for the Jewkes video on that...

Good enough thanks!
When I spray-paint lexan rc car bodies I tend to start the first coat after 11am and finish with the last coat before 5pm. Over the summer I sprayed at least three light coats at thirty minute intervals between those hours. I would then start with the next color two days later. I heat the cans using water in a sauce pan on the stove top set to simmer. A thirty second wade is enough to warm the paint to spray out without spitting / clogging. I'll try it with duplicolor.
