Any car that shows up with a modified body like Caroline's or a chopped top that is more aerodynamic than x56 then you will be dq'ed... ;D because this car is a brick... you guys will have no problem beating mood up... ;D

I hope you are just kidding about being DQ'ed for the modified body and chopped top. The car is a 57 Chevy. The model kit was available to any and everybody who was willing to go that route. I know of at least 2 more builders who will be sending that same car.

Here are some pics of the ones we are sending in. I understand what you guys are saying about the 56 Nomad being a brick. We almost named ours Slo-Mad. Anyway, here they are. I have been lucky in that so far this year, I have had every model in stock here in my hobby shop under the stairs! My wife has complained about so many models being stored here, but I told her in a prophetic tone,..." that someday I would need them". Sure enough I am using them and she is happy! Here is Motown Racing's entry....Motown Steamer. This car was damaged in the box, so it got a top chop and a little bit of streamlining. Not sure how much it helped, but ALL of our Chevys are faster than those Mopar entries from last time. ;D Here is my son's Sugar Dog Racing entry....Junkyard Dog. This started out as an EBAY find that never got fixed up. After several days of Easy Off dipping to get the crappy paint off, we primed it and filled in the missing grill and bumper. The finished model does have glass, but this is the only pic I got of it. Here is my other son's Team Ramrod entry...GoldenRod. He did all of the body work and paint on it, so I was glad that I did not have to mess with it. Good job for a 12 year old with a rattle can I'd say.

Mopar...don't you mean Fiat?? I have threatened to announce several cars at the drag strip that way but I would look funny flying out the tower window.

Mopar...don't you mean Fiat?? I have threatened to announce several cars at the drag strip that way but I would look funny flying out the tower window. After racing at Norwalk Raceway park for years, announcing Fiat instead of Dodge from the tower might just be worse than the Polka music they used to play over the PA system ;D They probably would just set the tower on fire, so your fear of falling would be replaced with a smoky flavored smell

Cool, I hadn't gotten any coffee in me yet when I read it so I wasn't functioning properly. My car isn't all that either. It sounds as if Andy and Gang are going to be the ones to watch if all their cars are faster than their Chargers. They all look great Andy.

Good news, bad news story for me.
Good news is I did manage to finish off the '55 Pro Street (Black and Yellow - named "Double Nickel") and a '57 hardtop (Red with Silver - named "Hollywood").
Bad news #1 - no pics... I know, I know, I suc#.
Bad news #2 - got 'em built, but no track time. Couple minutes tweaking on the front axle was all, just haven't had any "pine time" lately.
cya Saturday, hopefully.

I think we where expecting 2.97-2.98's cars that is not going to happen with the shoe box... beaker if you got a car at 3.00 then send it, because this will be a fast car... I am guesing that someone is going to run 2.991 and win it... if a builder hits and ave of 2.985 or better with a shoe box then you will recieve a set of Pure Stockrs... Glenn

Glenn Yeah, these things are slow. I thought that my '55 was running in the 3.01 range. After the last race at PDDR, I double checked the angle of my track since I thought my cars would have been faster. Turns out I was at 27.7 degrees. You would not believe how much more speed the cars get from just .6 degrees. After correcting the angle to 27.1, I was in the 3.05 to 3.06 range. I was able to get a little more speed out of it before I shipped her off - best run was 3.034, average was about 3.044. I just hope she's faster on the PDDR track. Take this info for what its worth - just keep in mind that I am consistently one of the slowest out there anyway.
