Any suggestions for a decent bench top band saw. I'm looking at a Craftsman, Skil and Ryobi. They are all about the same in price, what do you use?

I have the Ryobi 9 inch. I got it as a fathers day gift, and it does what I need it to. Make cars and ledges for my wife's chinchilla cages. I woudn't reccomend it for cutting anything intricate, as I have yet to fighure out how to make it work with any blade but the one it came with, however, if it's just for basic cutting, you can't go wrong for the price.

Fat Daddy,
I wound up with the Ryobi 9" Band Saw after looking at all the models and talking with a few people. I bought a 1/8" 59 1/2" Scroll Blade (15 Teeth Per Inch) to go with the saw for fine cutting. I could not get the blade to track right upon first assembly of my saw. So I put the original 1/4 blade back on and fine tuned the tracking and cut some wood. I then gave the 1/8" blade another try using the same tention and tracking set up for the 1/4" blade and it works fine. I noticed the upper wheel has a healthy amount of lubricant out of the box, you may need to wipe some of that off, it may help with other blades. I hope you have better luck when you try a new blade.

Thanks Res, I'll eventually get a newer blade to try it out again. Where did you get your 15tpi?
