Thanks I had my firewall blocking "hacking/proxy advoidance" and for some reason ... All better now Now the descriptions and RESULTS!!!!
The TOP picture is of my 9 year old son Ben's car called "C Ya L8R!" and built from Maximum Velocity's "Speeder" kit. It weighed exactly5 ounces, and with just minor help from adults, was entirely built and painted, etc by him! The car won Best of Show for looks and workmanship and will be going to District. He ran in a very competitive grouping and came in 4th place out of the 40 entrants. And only .002 average slower than First place of Scout participants!
The MIDDLE PICTURE of a car that looks like a bear is my wife Heidi's car. Named appropriately "Bear-ly Finished". She was up until 2 AM of the morning of the race!. The car is HAND CHISELED with Exacto blades and Dremel bits! I lubed the wheels and aligned them. Because we were running late I only spent about 3 - 4 minutes on the wheels! Despite the lack of time ran straight as an arrow, and ran second fastest of all cars participating with a best time of 3.470 seconds on the same 50 foot track. This car is totally against ALL reasoning of Physics! The COG is 21/4"(!!!) in front of the rear axle and only weighed in at 4.90 ounces!
My car, The BOTTOM picture, is called "Use Your Head!". Here's a picture of my car - "Use your Head". A simple "Wedge design running regular wheel base drilled holes, with one raised wheel. I ran a set of your Pure StockRs on just prepped, polished BSA axles and Tube O Lube. It weighed in at exactly 5 ounces. This was the first year family members participated with their own cars. On a 50 foot aluminum track, it ran a best of 3.3870 and placed fastest of all cars without placing below FIRST place in any of the six rounds of races. Approximately 50 cars were entered. I also want to thank you both for all that I've learned from you both over the last year!! I know that not only your great wheels helped but the information you so graciously offered for prepping wheels helped with a successful year! I know that my car isn't world class like so many of the people I read on the PWD boards but it just proves what a good product can do!
Thanks everyone! It was fun being able to personally compete for the first time ever with these results
John
