The slowest average time wins. If your car doesn't make it to the sensor (stops on the track), you get a 2.842 if it doesn't (Super Mod track record time). $10 to enter and winner takes it all. As far as I know that is it. I assume the car must have 4 wheels and be the standard size dimensions and weight.

It's going to be at the next PDDR event in April. Not this Saturday but the next. The 4th I believe.

TURTLE RACE All those that are going to race... Yes that is correct.... except for the height rule Also you must clear the timer tower and not interfere with any other car and stay in your own lane... If your car does not stay in it's lane then your are DQ'ed... Timer Tower is 5" Your cars must be shipped as is and not needing any assembly when they arrive here... Good luck boys Jewkes Engineering has something for this one ;D

I already sent my cars in for the race. Even more so than making a fast car it, would seem that you need a test track to nail this Turtle race down. It will be fun to watch though!

If I would have thought about it, I could have kept an eye out at our pack race and maybe bought a ringer for this thing.
The newest Ebay fad - Turtle cars.
Mine is done and will be on its way tomorrow.

Could someone post what is "not allowed" in the Turtle race?

no motors or devices that aid power to the car or wheels no sharp things on the bottom of car or touch the track no wider than 3-1/2" no taller than 4-7/8" no longer than 7" no heavier than 5oz.
Track guide measurement are 1/4" tall by 1-5/8" wide
Must clear under the timer tower, must be less than 5" tall. (4-7/8" for good clearance)
Pretty much build a car that can slow down really good and still make it stop the timer.

I might be able to slow this thing down even more..

Cool, I can make my car more realistic (I think - if it cooperates) and slow it down more. ;D Any guesses what the time will be that is a benchmark? You know, like 3.0 is for pure stock. Will it be 4.5? 5.0? Even slower???

Won't 3 1/2 " interfere with the car(s) in the other lanes?
Is that body width or wheelbase width?
One last question, I promise...
Do we just write Turtle on the registration form for class?

Depending how many cars are entered in this, we are thinking of running the cars by them selfs or just use the 2 out side lanes to do it.....
