Thank you very much for racing my kids cars. They will be so excited to see their cars racing on the pddr track. Was an awesome race! The Outburst replica (Screamon Demon as my boy called it) was the pack and district champ from last year. Started reading the PDDR boards after I sent you their cars. All of the info from all of the racers here is great. I learned a lot from trial and error over the past 2 years, should have just read the boards sooner!! The million dollar car got aligned when we got it back, made it faster than the Screamon Daemon. I thought my graphite was good, got a tube of hob e lube, put it on the Screamon Demon, and it beat the million dollar car by 1.5 car lengths. Big difference in graphite. I should have read the boards sooner!! (I keep saying that!)

We just had this years pack derby and my son got 3rd overall in our pack and second in our den. After reading the boards here and seeing how everyone helps each other, I put on a Derby Car clinic at my house for the kids and dads (moms too!). The same question kept coming up, "why are you giving up all your secrets?" It's for the kids I told them. Our den had 7 of the top 10 cars in the race! Was a great race day.

My boys new car beat his Screamon Demon too. It is the GRX (from the old Speed Racer). We will tweak it a little more for the district race to see if he can defend his title in 3 weeks. Bending axles for alignment is hard work!! "The Block" will make it easy for next year!!

pony: Don't over heat the axle. I did that once too and I had to resand the axle. Two seconds of the flame is all I did. I hold the axle in the drill chuck, heat it then immediately spin it against the silly putty. I then wipe the axle down by hand. Feb 23, 2018 22:02:58 GMT -7

pony: I do the same technique with the hard ski waxes which I use a lot. You can heat the axle or if you don't want to use the heat just hold the hard ski wax against the spinning axle. Use high speed. The ski wax transfers by friction and the heat of the spin. Feb 23, 2018 22:06:02 GMT -7

pony: Remember though you still need some form of silicone on the axle after the ski wax. Plastics on steel always needs silicone. I don't have the technical know how to do a video and post it. It's the same process as polishing compounds and polishing wheels. Feb 23, 2018 22:09:47 GMT -7
