I need your help. Where would place your weights on your car on this track? Racing with a Awana Grand Prix car you can use Standard or extended wheelbase. Here is the website for this track.http://www.crestmontchurch.com/pinewoodderby/raceway_photos .)

What is your reason for going standard wheelbase?
Do you have a small digital scale for weighing Derby cars?

My son wants to make a truck design or a wedge or wing design. If we make the truck put the weight in rear? Same thing with the other two design.

Go with a thin wedge design. The truck design looks cool but it leaves too much weight in the front. Use the extended wheelbase if allowed. Good luck and have fun!

My son thought about a truck also but he has learned from the last 2 years what fast designs look like for the most part so he decided against it. If we had built it we were going to make it a really low cab in the middle just not really high and use paint and graphics to make the truck resemblance.
One other way we get around these types of designs is to do it with graphics , stickers etc. My son likes to build sports teams cars, so the design isn't critical. He can get what he wants out out of some type of wedge design.
