Has anyone ever tried one. I would think the 3 or 4 wheels running on the track would creat lots of minute vibrations and perhaps slow the car down?? also with an adjustable suspension one could adjust the amount of cant on the wheels.

Sorry, but that's against the rules. It states in the rules that you can't use things like that. A suspension system would be springs, and you can't use those.
4: The following Modifications are Forbidden
You can not use... a. Springs b. Magnets c. Starting or finish line devices or propellants. d. Electronic or lighting devices e. Glass or extremely fragile parts f. Paint that rubs off, smudges or extremely sticky g. Loose objects on car h. Sharp objects on the bottom of car. (We do not want any damage to the rubber stopping pads) i. Any part of the car to go beyond the starting peg. j. Sticky substances or anything on the car to aid with the starting peg.

rubber bands are not springs. small air pillows, thin carbon steel - spring steel but its not a spring. any vibration absorbing material would work?? rules would not be broken. stretch a bit ??

Well so far I've never had any problems with vibration. My cars run faster on 3 wheel than 4. I know because I've done lot of testing.

Try using E 2000 glue. We use it for the axles and around and between tungsten plates or blocks. We use it very thick under the tungsten and the support. It holds well when dry yet has a very rubber-like consistency. Rigid glues I think are more likely to transmit vibes IMHO than a hunk of rubber. We often drill a larger inner glue hole near the tip of the axle and fill it up. Dries and acts like a rubber dampener. uh, I mean glues in my axles Have not done any data collection to prove that it is better, however it does make me feel better! I have also never had the glue fail on me yet I can in an emergency pull an axle / weight if I must and that would never be possible with super glue. Thats my 2 cents J

We're talking a strait smooth track here. Coupled with trued and balanced wheels. The fastest cars have no vibration to dampen. Any suspension would move your alignment slightly every time it adjusted. This would transmit into the loss of speed. When the top 10 cars are within an inch of each other even the smallest loss of speed will set you to the back of the pack. This is my opinion only.
