Anyone having a problem with what looks like little "bumps" in their clear coats? I assume it is dried pieces of clear coat that were forced loose when trying to spray a new car. I tear down the gun each time and clean it thouroughly but I always seem to get one or two of these bumps in my clearcoat. Am I doing something wrong? I am using the HOK Kosmic Klear and the Catalyst. Is their an easier clearcoat to shoot? Am I missing something when cleaning the gun. Tips or tricks from any of you guys that lay down the high gloss would be appreciated.

First thing.... Are you straining the clear mixture when you pour it into the cup?
Also, invest in a gun cleaning kit. These kits have several different sized bristle brushes. Use the right sized brush, should fit snug, and run it through the fluid passages.
I use cheap grade lacquer thinner as a solvent. Submerge the gun in the thinner, let it soak for a minute or two. The run the wet brush through all the passages. Follow with compressed air. Repeat until "squeaky" clean.

F.A.S.T.
I have not been straining it. What is the best thing to use to do this? Also, where did you find the brushes for the gun cleaning kit?

F.A.S.T. I have not been straining it. What is the best thing to use to do this? Also, where did you find the brushes for the gun cleaning kit? Here's a picture of paint strainers:
They are offered in Medium and Fine mesh. I use the medium for basecoat colors and the fine for clears.

I just stop by my local Autobody Paint Supply Store, when I'm in getting some tape or sandpaper or thinner and ask for a few. My supplier gives me a few no charge. That's just ONE of the perks of buying your paint supplies local instead of off the web. Plus the guy behind the counter can answer questions and give advice.
