I was going to purchase a pre-paid shipping label online through USPS.com for the return shipping. The interface requires a selection of the mail date but only lists up to a 3 day advance mail date. The actual return shipping would be at a later date. I'm wondering if the label would be rejected if not mailed by the mail date. Has anyone tried this method?

Has anyone tried this method? just feel out a return address label for me and send enough money to cover the return shipping cost... I have to go to usps to drop off all the cars any way and I pay with one check or my card. this is the easiest way I have found to do it... it takes me less time to drive to the usps stand in line than it dose to print labels and put them on the pkg... if the builders help me out and feel out a return address it saves hours... thank you Glenn

one more thing... if the builder will feel out a usps label that i can peel and stick this will speed up the process even faster... This is what I wanted to do but go the extra step and pre-pay the postage. Whether I print out USPS labels online or via their Shipping Assistant 3.5 software, I'm still asked for the intended ship date. Having spoke on the phone with a tech support guy at the USPS; he said if the post office is a strict one, they will refuse the label if it's not mailed by the ship date. Apparently post offices can be deducted points for not following USPS policy. However, the tech support guy thought there may be less chance of rejection if the label is printed without pre-paid postage. He suggested the sender ask the teller at time of mailing if the label can still be used or have them print up a new one. So I printed out a self-adhesive USPS Priority Mail label without pre-paid postage and will be including it in the package for you. Note, the label shows the ship date as 2/5/2009 which is the latest date I could select *** TODAY *** when creating the label.
