Anyone working on some new projects over the holidays? I have 2 weeks off for Christmas so I figured I would build 2 new cars. ;D A new Pure Stocker which will be my first one running on graphite and a new Super Stocker. I think I'll run the graphite Pure Stockers during the cold months and save the oil cars for Summer.

I'm working on a ton of stuff. With the help of Mood Swing, I have completed custom name tags for my cars in 2009. Today I picked up a microphone for my computer hoping that I can chat with other racers during the events. I have an entire fleet of cars in the works.
Over the next two weeks I will work with my son on his BSA car and my daughter on her Powder Puff Derby car for Girl Scouts. That will go slow because they can't work on them for more than about a half hour at a time.
I have a new Pure Stocker for PDDR, and I am going to build a few cars for the Mid US Nationals in March.

8-)SWEET COLOR SCHEME! IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO WEIGHT THE CAR AFTER THE PAINTING IS DONE. IS THIS HOW MOST PEOPLE DO IT? I HAVE ALWAYS FINISHED MY WEIGHTS BEFORE PAINTING. YOUR WAY MAKES MORE SENSE THOUGH, THAT WAY YOU CAN ADJUST THE WEIGHT FOR MORE SPEED WITHOUT HAVING TO REEK HAVIC ON THE PAINT JOB.

Welcome to the fun at PDDR !! ;D
Can't speak for most people, but that is how I adjust the weight. When I have the car shaped and sanded, then I weigh it with the wheels and axles, then add chunks of lead till I get to 142 grams.
Then I finish the painting. The car then ends up slightly over weight. The lead is soft so I can easily drill out some to get to race weight. Don't try that with tungsten !!!

I don't know if anyone has told you, but the car looks VERY NICE. I assume you plan on running it in the upcoming Pure Stock race. I think we will see a lot of new cars for that race.
