[glow=red,2,300][/glow]I've put three coats of duplicolor clear top coat from a can on a test car and after each of the first two coats I sanded with ultra-fine steel wool(I think #0000). Before sanding the second coat, the car had a glaze to it all around.
After the third and final coat, the top of the car and 1/4 of the sides at the top is dull, maybe hazy. The lower 3/4 on the sides still have a glaze look.
The coats were applied at 11am, 2pm, and 4:30pm. The temperature outside was coldest after the third coat was applied, somewhere in the 60s F.
I had this same issue in October when I painted some raingutter regatta boats, however I used 3M automotive 320 grit sand paper then.

I have always had problems with duplicolor when the temp gets below 70. I get the same haze you are talking about even in the base coat . I'm shore the temp is the problem. Whatever you do don't tape of the shower with plastic and use it for a paint booth. I got in big trouble over that one.
