I don't mean to start something, but the rules state one has to race 3 out of the 5 races to be in the points standings I noised there are cars that have only run 1 to2 races locked in the KING OF THE HILL race. It doesn't look fair to one who has raced 3 to all 5 races this year .

I think originally the KOH format was that a builder had to race 3 of the 5 races and the builder not the car was what qualified for the KOH. The car had to have raced at least once during the course of the year. Now, the KOH has been open up to all builders and all cars for the respective classes. As long as your car has race at least once, you should be good to go. If you are fortunate to be in the top 6 in points, you are locked into the finals. If you aren't, you got to race your way in.

I have to agree with Shade Tree - In the Stock class, builder Good Vibration only ran 2 races during the year and in the Super Stock Class, Rail Hugger and Carolina Gravity Sports only raced once during the year. I would assume that they would not "clinch a spot" and that should go to someone who raced at least 3 races during the season. They did incredibly well in the races they did enter and should be given special consideration (cost wise maybe) to race in the preliminary run-offs and still earn a spot to compete for KOH.
I don't make the rules and will stand behind "the decision of the judges".
Just my 2 cents worth
By the way, congratulations to all of the points champs! What a great season with kudos to spread among many.

So if I understand this correctly, even though I only raced twice this year(1 time stock 1 time super mod), I can still enter the KOH race with those two cars that I previously raced and still have a chance to win KOH?

EXACTLY!!!!! 6 cars have PRE qualified. all cars that have raced at least 1 time go into a shootout for 3 positions. those 3 positions get added to the 6 Pre qualified. this make a 9 car KOH challenge!! it's the PDDR's version of the lucky dog in nascar Do we get to relube after qualifing?

good queston looks like it would only be fair to relube to keep it a level playing field it looks to me, if not the cars in qualifying race would have more runs than the others

good question looks like it would only be fair to relube to keep it a level playing field it looks to me, if not the cars in qualifying race would have more runs than the others Depends on how you look at this....
We are pending this issue...
Cars that race for the 3 new spots will have more runs on them but will also be warmed up and ready. Cars that are waiting for the race will not be warmed up.
Good question on how to resolve this..
1. We thought by giving all other entries for the 3 new spots will have to hope there lube holds out. That is the gamble of being invited to participate.
2. Don't have a challenge for 3 new racers, just run the 6 qualified cars.
3. Lube all cars that want lube before King of the Hill Challenge.
We will keep you posted on what will take place.

I don't want to muddy the waters even more, but the way I interpreted the rule that you must compete at least three times to quality for KOH was specific to the individual class. It is true that I have sent something like 14 cars into PDDR this year. However, I think I only sent two cars in for the Super Stock Class. I thought that I would not be eligible for KOH in Super Stock because I did not send three cars in for that class. If it is determined that I am a qualifier, I will be very honored and send one of my cars back in for the race (if I don't bring it with me and show up out of the blue). In the end, whatever the judge decides I will abide by and I will not have any hurt feelings.
I love PDDR. I will continue to race hear as long as I have this Pinewood Fever.
